4 Precautions Before using this product, car efully read this manual and r etain it for future refer ence. This product has been designed with the highest concern for safety. However, any electrical device, if used improperly, has the potential for causing fire, electri cal shock or personal injury.
5 Precautions Bef ore use EN • Do not allow liquid or small particles t o get into the system or accesso ries. • Do not place the sys tem or accessories on surfaces that are tilted, unstable or subject to vibration. • Do not throw, drop or step on the system or accessories, and do not subject the devices to strong physical shock.
6 Precautions • The socket-outlet shall be installe d near the equipment and shall be easily acces sible. • The LCD s creen is made of glass a nd may crack if subjected to excessi ve force. • Black (dark) pixels and continuously lit pixels may appear in c ertain locations on the LCD sc reen.
7 Precautions Bef ore use EN • When using Memory Stick Duo™ media without an erasure prevention switch, take care not to overwrite or delete data by accident. If your Memory Stick Duo™ media has an erasure prevention switch, you can p revent da ta from being saved, edited, or deleted by setting the switch in the L OCK position.
8 Precautions If the P SP ® system or UMD™ is brought directly from a cold location to a warm one, moi sture may condense on the lens inside the system or on the UMD™. Should this occur, the system may not operate properly. In this case, remove the UMD™ and turn off and un plug the system.
9 About the battery Bef ore use EN Batt ery pa ck pr ecauti ons Do not handle a damaged or leaking batte ry pack. Contact with the material can res ult in injury or burns to the eyes or skin. Even if foreign substances are not immediately visible, chemical changes in the material can result in injuries occurring at a later time.
10 About the battery • U SB chargi ng uses the power supply of the USB port of the connected device. Charge the battery by connec ting the PSP ® syst em to a device equipped with a high-power USB port . If a low-power USB port or a USB hub is used , the batt ery may not b e able to be c harged.
11 Compatible media Bef ore use EN The media types listed below can be used on the PSP ® sys tem. Throughout this manual, the ter m "Memory Stick Duo™" is used to refer to a ll types of Memory Stick™ media in t he table below. *1 Compatible wit h MagicGate™ *2 Com patible with h igh-speed data transfer over a p arallel interface.
12 Compatible media File size limitati on The specif ication of the f ile system used on Memory Stick™ media limits the size of fi les that can be recorded or played to less than 4 GB per file. MagicG ate is a t erm of copyright-protection technology developed by Sony Corporation.

16 Before requesting service , There may be too much distance between the sys tem and the access point or , when in ad hoc mode, the sys tem and the other player. , Check that the network settings are correct. Refer to the instructions supplied with the network e quipment and by your Internet service provider to make t he correct network settings.
