Chapter 2 Chapter 2 Setting up your Sony CLI É Handheld – Basics This chapter describes basic hardware setup procedures that you should perform, before you start using your CLI É handheld in combination with your computer.
24 Step 1: Charging your Sony CLI É Handheld Note Before you use your CLI É handheld for the first time, make sure to charge it. Connect the supplied cradle to an AC power source in advance. Charging will start as soon as you place your CLI É handheld on the cradle.

36 Step 6: Performing a HotSync ® operation for the first time What is a HotSync operation? HotSync, which is a technology particular to a Palm OS ® platform device, is the one-step operation that allows you to synchronize data between your CLI É handheld and your computer, and back up the CLI É data on your computer.

In the MS Gate application, you can do the following: • Copy or move data to and from your CLI É handheld and Memory Stick media.
46 MS Import The Memory Stick Import (MS Import) application is used in combination with the Memory Stick Export (MS Export) software to copy your computer data on the Memory Stick media inserted in your CLI É handheld without performing a HotSync operation.

52 Uninstalling the supplied applications In the event that you no longer need an application you installed, you can remove an application from your computer ’ s hard disk as follows: 1 Click Start from the taskbar, point to Settings, and click Control Panel.

55 Setting up your Sony CLI É Handheld – Advanced Chapter 3 4 From the User drop-down list, select a user name to use. 5 Click Add. The Open File dialog box appears. The supplied add-on applications are stored in the Add-on folder. 6 Select the application(s) you want to install on your CLI É handheld.

Note You can remove only add-on applications, patches, and extensions that you have installed.
