Connecting a Power Sourc e 9 Using Battery Power PCG-N505VE comes with the PCGA-BP51 battery pack, and PCG- N505VX comes with the PCGA-BP52 battery pack. Y ou can use a battery pack as a source of power . The battery pack that comes with your computer is not fully charg ed at the time of pur chase.

Using the Floppy Disk Drive 25 T o remove a disket te ❑ When you finish using the diskette, wait un til the LED indicator turns of f and then pr ess the Eject button to remove the diskette. If the diskette does not come out by pressing the Eject button, disconnect the floppy disk drive from the computer .

T o insert a PC car d 1 Pull the PC card release button up away from the computer and push it in towards the computer .
Using PC Cards 27 2 Remove the PC car d slot protector . 3 Insert the PC card into the PC car d slot, front label facing up. Gently push the car d into the slot until the card is fixed into the connector . The release button comes out. Pull the release button, then push it down towar ds the slot.

Using Smart Connect 29 Using Smart Connect The pre-installed Smart Connect software allows you to use an i.LINK cable (not supplied) to connect your V AIO 505 SuperSlim notebook to another V A IO computer that also has Smart Connect. Y ou can then use one computer to copy , delete, and edit files on the other computer .

Y ou can use this port to communicate with other infrar ed- equipped devices with compatible protocols, such as a digital still camera or other computers.
Using Infrared Communic ation Devices 31 Check the Status t ag of the Infrared Monitor in the Wind ows Control Panel to determine if the infrared device is detected. If the two devices are too far apa rt or too close toget her , data transfer may be interrupted or there may be noise in the tr ansmission.

Using Power Saving Modes 33 System Suspend Mode The computer saves the curr ent state of the system in RAM and switches off power to the CPU. The tan power indicator light flashes in this mode. T o activate Syst em Suspend mode Press Fn+Esc. Y ou can also use the PowerPanel utility to enter System Suspend mode.
