Er gonomic Consid erati ons 19 ❑ The com puter uses high -frequenc y radio signals and may cause interferen ce to radio or TV reception. Using the D VD-ROM Dri ve 43 Using the D VD-R OM Drive Y our c omputer comes with a D VD-R OM dri v e, which plays b oth D VD and CD. T o insert a disc 1 T urn on the computer . 2 Press the Eject b utton to o pen the D VD-R OM dri ve. The tray slides out.

Using the D VD-ROM Dri ve 45 5 Close the tray by pushing it gently . ✍ Be sure to se at the disc f irmly over t he hub fi ngers. If you do not seat the dis c firmly , you cou ld damage your DVD- ROM dri ve and yo u may not be ab le to open the tr ay .

Cl ose an y open application s before pl aying a D VD mo vie.
Using the D VD-ROM Dri ve 47 Notes on CD and D VD media ❑ Do not drop or bend the d isc. ❑ Do not touch the surf ace of the disc. Fingerprints and dust on the surface of a disc may caus e read errors. Prop er care of the disc is essential to maintain its reliability .

PC cards allow you to connect portable e xternal de vices such as anoth er hard disk d riv e, or to connect a netw ork. T o inser t a PC c ard 1 Pull the PC card release b utton out from the com puter , and then push it in to ward the computer .

Y ou can use this port to commu nicate with other infrared- equipped de vices with compatible protocols, such as a digital still camera or oth er computers.
