7 1 Charging the built-in battery • The ba ttery is built in within the camera. 1 Remove the insulation sheet. 2 Connect the AC Adaptor to the DC IN jack of the camera, making sure the power is off . 3 Plug the power cord (mains lead) to a wall outlet (wall socket).
8 2 Ins erting a “Memory Stick Duo” (not supplied) 1 Open the “M emory Stick Duo ” cover. 2 Insert the “M emory Stick Duo” (not supplied) all th e way in u ntil it clicks.
9 3 Turning the camera on/setting the clock 1 Open the LCD panel to turn the power on. Open and lift the LCD p anel up to a 90 degrees angle from the camera ( 1 ), then rotate it to the desire d angle ( 2 ). You can also turn the power on by pressing POWER button.

13 Viewi ng/Ed iting imag es 1 Open the LCD panel to turn the power on. You can also turn the power on by pressing POWER. 2 Press MODE to set the camera to playback mode. (Play mode) lamp lights up. 3 Plays back m ovies or still images. Movie : Press the Multi- selector to playback a movie.

25 Number of still images and recordin g time of movies The length of time for movies and the number of still images m ay vary depe nding on the shooting conditions.
26 Trouble shooting If you experienc e trouble wi th your ca mera, try th e fo llowin g sol ution s. 1 Check the items b elow, and refer to “Network Sharing C amera Handbook ” (PDF). 2 Turn the pow er off , and tu rn it o n again a fter abou t one minut e.
27 Vertical streaks appear when you are shooting a very bright subject. • The smear phe nomenon is occurr ing and white, black, red, purple, or other streaks ap pear on the imag e. This phenom enon is not a malf unction. Your camera can not playback images.
28 10 Re-install the USB driver by ta king the follow ing steps. 1 Double- click [My Co mputer]. 2 Right- click [SONYPICTUTIL(E:)](disk drive)*. • The driver letter (such as (E:)) may differ depending on the computer you are using. 3 Click [Op en], doubl e-click [US B Driver] and then doub le-click [set up.
29 Precau tions [ Do not u se/store the ca mera in the following places • In an extremely hot, cold or humid place In places such as in a car parked in the sun, t he camera body may become deformed and this may c aus e a ma lf unc tion.
30 4 Insert a flat-b laded scre w driver, etc., i nto the “Memory S tick Duo” slot and lif t the cover up in the di rection of t he arrow. • Shift the cover while lifti ng it up to avoid the tab. 5 Take the cover off and remove the bat tery with the b ottom surfac e of the camera fa cing down.
