12 1 Preparing the bat tery pack 1 Insert the battery p ack i nto the batter y charger . 2 Connect the battery charger to the wall outlet (wall socket). The CHARGE lamp lights on, and char ging starts. When the CHARGE lamp turns off, charging is finished (Practical char ge).
13 2 Inserting the bat tery pack/a “Memory Stick Duo” (not supplied) 1 Open the batter y/“Memory Stick Duo” co ver . 2 Insert the “Mem ory Stic k Duo” (not suppl ied) all the way in un til it c lic ks. 3 Inser t the battery pack. 4 Close the b attery/“Memor y Stick Duo” cover .

18 [ DISP Changing t he screen display Press v (DISP) on the contro l button. Each time you press v (DISP) butt on, the LCD sc reen or the LCD finder ch anges as follows.

21 Viewin g/delet ing imag es 1 Press (Pla yback) button. If you press when the camera is powered of f, the camera is turned on automatically and set to playback mode. T o switch to the shooting mode, press again. 2 Select an image with b / B on the contr ol b utton.

23 Learn ing th e variou s func tions – HOME/Men u Using the HOME screen The HOM E scree n is the gateway screen for all the fun ctions of your camera. Y ou can select the shoo ting mode or pl ayback mode , or change th e settings from the HOME screen.

25 Using menu items 1 Press MENU to display the menu. • The menu will be displayed only during shooting and playback mode. • Dif fere nt ite ms wi ll be come visi ble depending on the selected mode. 2 Select the desired item with v / V on the contr ol b utto n.
26 Menu items The available menu ite ms vary depe nding on the c amera mode. The shootin g menu is available only in the shoot ing mode, a nd the viewing menu is av ailable only in the pl ayba ck mode. Also, t he menu item s av ailab le vary depe nding on the m ode d ial positi on.

29 Viewing “Cyber -shot Handbo ok” and “Cybe r -shot S tep-up Gui de” [ For W indows users 1 Turn on your computer, and insert the CD- ROM (supplied) into t he CD-ROM drive. The screen belo w appears. When you click the [Cyber-shot Handbook] button, the sc reen for copying “Cyber-shot Handbook” appears.
