2 Installing s To prevent in ternal heat buildup, do not bl ock the ventilation openings. s Do not install the TV in a hot or humid place, or in a place subject to excessive dust or m echanical vibration. s Avoid operating t he TV at temper atures below 5°C (41°F) .
3 Important Safeguards Before using your T V, please read these ins tructions completely, and k eep this ma nual fo r futu re refe rence. Carefully observ e and comply with all warnings, cautio ns and instructions placed on the set or described in the operating instructions or service manual.
4 Ventilation hole s Do not inser t anything in the ven tilation hol es. If metal or something flammable en ters, it m ay result in fire or electric shock. Cleaning Clean the cabi net of the TV wit h a dry soft cl oth. To remove dust from the screen, wipe it gently with a soft cloth.
5 Ventilation The slots and openings in the media receiver unit and display unit are provided for necessary ventilation. To ensure reliable operation of the set, and to protect it from overheating, these slots and openings must never be blocked or covered.
6 Ship and ve ssel Do not i nstall this uni t in a ship or ves sel. If the unit is exposed to seawater, it may cause fire or damage the unit. Carrying Carrying the se t requires two o r more people. If you carry the set in a manner other than that specified, it may drop and a serious injury may be caused.
7 Servicing Do not attempt to service the set your self since opening the cabinet may expose you to da ngerous voltage or other hazards. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.

22 Setup Basic Connections: Connecting a Cable or Antenna The way in which you will connect your TV v aries, depending on how your home recei ves a signal (cable, cab le box, antenna) an d whether or not yo u plan to connect a VCR. If y ou are connecting a VCR s See the conn ections descri bed on pages 3 0 and 32.
