4 DO YOU HAVE THE RIGHT RECEIVER? Note: Receivers with remotes that do not output Infrared will not operate the OSD. Your MotoSAT dish will work with most all new rece ivers, but some of the older receivers ma y not operate properly.
5 THE MotoSAT Executive OSD Positioner NOTE – You will need to place the MotoSAT Positioner (O SD) inside the same cabinet that your receiver is located. Wireless communication is happen ing betwe en the MotoSAT Positioner and the T V Receiver that is not possible when units are separ ated (see Figure 1).
6 FUNCTIONS OF YOUR MotoSAT SYSTEM AUTOMATIC SEARCH AND LOCK ON THE CORRECT SA TELLITE MotoSAT gives you on-screen control of your satellite sy stem. No matter where you find yourself in the United States, your system is smart enough to make sure you have con nected to the satellite of your choice.
7 CHANGING REMOTE CONTROL TYPE Your installer normally sets this function. Howeve r, you may have purchased a new Satellite Rec eiver, in which case, you will need to tell the MotoSAT posit ioner which kind of Satell ite Receiver you are now using. Holding the front panel button in for 3 0 second s can also do this function.
8 USING YOUR MotoSAT SYSTEM There are four b asic operations that you will use any time you want to watch televi sion. 1. TURNING ON THE SYSTEM 2. FINDING SA TELLITE 3. STOWING THE DISH 4. TURNING OFF THE SYSTEM Of course there are many other func tions you may perform, but for now, let’s focus on getting the TV working.
9 THE MAIN MENU SCREEN If you do not see the MotoSAT Screen appear when you p ower up the system, please go to TROUBLESHOOTING at the end of the manual. FIND SATELLITE - While th e Main Menu scre en is on your TV screen , us e your Receive r’s Remote to navigate this screen.
10 Please choose the city you are in or closest to. Once you do that, the below m enu will appear and t he dish will start to move automaticall y. Note: Pressing the #1 button at this time wi ll op en up the rece ivers Signal St rength Menu and allow you to monitor the satellite finding and peaking process.
11 The Main Menu allows you to p erform some basic operati ons. It also shows which Satelli te TV service you are subscribed and whether or not your dish has ever tested. SETUP SCREEN Choosing INFORMATION, DIAG NOSTICS, OPTIONS, and SATELLITE SETUP will take you to those scr eens.
12 The information screen shows manufacturing in formation abou t your system . When it wa s built, and who it was built by… which of course is MotoSAT. Also includ ed is Mo toSAT’s address, phon e numbers and web site as well as Hardware and Software Revisio n information.
13 STOW DISH ON - You have the option of having the dish stow when Power is turned off, when AC power is turned off and when the signal is lost (a nice safety feature for when you drive off with th e dish up). You m ay change these options to NO by selecting them with your r e mote and pressing th e LEFT and RIGHT keys.
14 SATELLITE SETUP SCREEN The great thing about your satellite s ystem is that you can switch from one satellite to another at will to take advan tage of different programming on different satellites. Note: so me receivers may n ot load their Gu ide properly on alternate satelli tes.
15 Satellite Options To get to the Sat ellite Options Screen press the Se lect or OK button on a high lighted satellite on th e satellite setup screen. Note: You can not change the op tions on the satel lite that is considered the defau lt. If you select the defau lt satellite, nothing will happen.

17 MotoSAT Positioner (Rear view) **Pin 9 – Purple wire going to this position is optional. Positioner Dimensions 1 ¼” inch tall, by 11” inches wide, by 9” deep Power Control Cable Out to TV .
18 Dry-Camping (Energy Conservation Wiring Option) DRY-CAMPING - This Dry Camping connection allows you to conserver power by turning off the MotoSAT positioner after you’ve found satellite. This C able must be connected for this op tion to work . When ON Satellite , simply turn OFF your OSD Positioner.
21 TROUBLESHOOTING THE MOTOSAT SCREEN DOES NOT APPEAR 1. If you can’t get a MotoSAT menu to appear on your te levision , make sure it isn’t something simple lik e cables not being connect properly or that the power is OFF on your Television, TV Receiver, or MotoSAT positioner.
22 FIGURE 1 Proper Placement of Equipment Receiver has to be placed just back of clear plastic front. If placed forward of this location it will cause error “Please Wait” because the Positioner cannot communicate with the receiver.
23 FIGURE 2 “O” Ring Style Connectors O-Ring style of F-Co nnectors (for Coax Cable) Use of Coax connectors shown below will void warranty and can cause equipment intermittent problems. This type of connector is not recommended nor authorized to be used on any MotoSAT product.
24 FIGURE 3 MotoSAT Bulletin 010501 A/B Switches Explanation: The practice of utilizing a mechanical switch (A/B switch) to disconnect the roof mount antenna an d connect to a ground mount can cause problems . The problems are extremely difficult to diagnose since symptom s can be related to many different areas .
25 Updating of Operating Software in the OSD Positioner Your OSD Positioner contains softwar e which may be reloaded (updated) by the use of a computer and a 9 pin serial ca ble. The procedure for updating your software to the latest version is as follows: 1.
