5 Getting started Getting started Assembly Before you st art using your phone, you need to insert a S IM card and the battery. To insert the SIM card 1 Unlock the ba ttery co ver. 2 Remove the ba ttery co ver. 3 Slide the SIM card into its holder with the golden contac ts facing down.

More than one call Call waiting When call waiting is us ed, you hear a beep if you rece ive a seco nd call.

29 Messaging Text messages Text messages ca n contain simple pictures, sound effects, animati ons, and melodies. Before you use messa ging You must have a ser vice centre number. The number is supplied by your service pr ovid er and is usually saved on the SIM card.
30 Messaging Picture messages Picture messa ges ca n contain text, pictures, slid es, sound recordings, video clips, sig natures and attachments. You can send picture messages to a mobi le phone or an email address. Before you use picture messaging You must set an Internet profile and the address of your me ssage server.
31 Messaging To save an item in a picture message • When you view a picture m essage select Options > Save items and select an item. Message opti ons You can set standa rd options for a ll messages or cho ose specific settings each time you se nd a message.
32 Messaging Voice messages You can send and receiv e a sound recording as a voice message. To record and send a voice message 1 From standby select Menu > Messaging > Wri te n ew > Voice message . 2 Record the messag e and select Stop > Send > Contacts look-up .
33 Messaging To save an email message 1 From standby select Menu > Messaging > Email > Inbox . 2 Scroll to the messag e and select Options > Save message . To reply to an email message 1 From standby select Menu > Messaging > Email > Inbox .
34 Messaging To turn on push email notification • From standby select Menu > Messaging > Email > Settings > Push email . My friends You can connect and l og in to the My friends server to communicate online with chat messages. Before you use My friends If no settings exist in your phone, you need to enter serv er settings.
35 Messaging Chat group A chat group can be started by your service provider, by an individual My friends user or by yourself. You can save chat groups by sa ving a chat invitation or by searching fo r a specific chat group. To create a chat group 1 From standby select Menu > Messaging > My friends > the Chat groups tab.
