76 The battery remaining indicator is incorrect, o r sufficient battery remaining indicat or is disp la yed b ut the po wer runs out too qui ckl y . • This phenomeno n occurs when you use the c amera in an extremely hot or cold loc ation (page 94).
77 T roubleshoo ting The screen does not turn on even when the power is turned on. • Turn on the screen (page 20). Y our camera cannot record ima ges.
78 Smart zoom does not funct ion. • Set [Dig ital Zoom] to [Smart] (page 4 3). • This function can not be used when: – The image size is set to [6M] or [3:2]. – Shoo ting in Multi Bur st mode. – Shooti ng movies. The flash doe s not w ork. • The flash is set to (No flash) ( t step 5 in “Read Th is First” ).
79 T roubleshoo ting Noise appears in the image when you vi ew the screen in a dark place. • The camera is att empting to incre ase the visibili ty of th e scree n by tempo rarily b rightening the image und er condit ions of lo w illumin atio n. There is no ef fect on the recorded image.
80 Y our camera cannot delete an image . • Cancel the pr otectio n (page 37). • Y ou are usi ng the “Mem ory Stick Duo” w ith the writ e-protect switch, and th e switch is set to the LOCK pos ition. Set the swi tch to the recordin g position (page 90) .
81 T roubleshoo ting Y ou do not know if the OS of y o ur computer is compatible with the camera. • Check “R ecommended c omputer e n vir onment” on page 53 for Windows, and page 66 for Macintos h. Y our computer does not recognize your camera. • T urn on t he cam era ( t st ep 2 in “Re ad Thi s F irst” ).
82 After making a USB connection, the supplied software does not start automatically . • Star t up the “M edia Ch eck T ool” (page 6 2). • Make t he USB c o nnect ion aft er the computer is t urned on (page 56). The ima ge cannot be pla yed back on a co mputer .
83 T roubleshoo ting Cannot inser t a “Memory Stick Duo”. • Insert it in the correc t direction ( t step 3 in “Read This F irst” ). Cannot record on a “Memory St ick Duo”. • Y ou are using the “Memor y Stick Duo” with th e write-protect switc h, and the switch is set to the LOC K positi on.
84 The free capacity of the internal memory does not increase even when y ou copy the data st ored in the internal memory to a “Memory Stick Duo”. • The data is not dele ted afte r copying. Execute the [Forma t] comm and (page 46) t o format t he inte rnal memo ry a fter c o p ying the d ata.
85 T roubleshoo ting Cannot pri nt images. • Check tha t the camera and the printe r are properly conn ected using the USB cabl e. • Turn on the printer . F or further information, refer to the operati ng instruction s supplied with the prin ter .
