22 On th e AC A daptor • Connect the AC Adaptor to an easily accessible wall socket close by . If any trouble occurs while using the adaptor, immediately shut off the po wer by disconnecting the p lug from the wall s ocket. • Do not u se the A C Adaptor placed in a narro w space, such a s between a wall and f urniture.
23 Gett ing S tarted T o recor d, slide the POWER switch to turn on the re specti ve lamp. When us ing it for the f irst t ime, the [CLOCK SET] sc reen a ppears (p.
24 Open the LCD sc reen 90 d egrees to t he camcord er ( 1 ), th en rotate i t to the b est angle to recor d or play ( 2 ). • Be careful not to press t he buttons on the LCD frame accidentally when you open or adjust the LCD sc reen .

26 Set the dat e and time whe n using this camcord er for the first time. If you do not set the dat e and time, th e [CLOCK SET] scr een appears every t ime you turn on your camcor der or slide the PO WER switch.
27 Gett ing S tarted A new 8 c m DVD-R , D VD- R W, or D V D+R W is requir ed for recor ding (p.14) . • Remove dust or f inger prin ts from th e disc beforehand, us ing the cle aning cloth supplied with your camcorder (p.132). 1 Check that th e power of y our camcor der is on.

29 Gett ing S tarted • After your camcorder recognizes th e disc, disc information such a s the date you started to use it and information on pre v iously recorded areas appears for about 8 seconds. The information on pre v iously recorded areas may not be displayed correctly depending on the con dition of the disc.
30 By r ecor ding in the 16:9 (w ide) mode , you can e njoy wide -angle, high-r esolution pictures. • If you intend to view pictures on a wide TV , recording in the 16: 9 (wide) mode is recommended. 1 Sl ide the PO WER switch in the dire ction of th e arrow to li ght up the (M ovie) lamp.

When usin g the finali zed DVD-R W (V R mode) di sc, you c an re cord ad ditional material on th e disc without any additional steps.
62 Formatting m akes the record ed disc new and reusable by deleting all the da ta recorded on the disc. The recor ding capa city of th e disc is recov ered by formatti ng it.
