13 GB Tuner Listening to the radio You can listen to a radio station either by selecting a preset station, or by manually tuning in the station. Listening to a preset station — Preset Tuning Preset radio stations in the tuner’s memory first (see “Presetting radio stations” on page 11).

Radio Data System (RDS) is a broadcasting service that allows radio stations to send additional information along with the regular program signal. This tuner offers convenient RDS features like station name and program type* display.

18 GB Sound Adjustment Adjusting the sound Enjoying the powerful sound — GROOVE You can listen to music with more powerful sound. Press GROOVE. “GROOVE” appears in the display and the volume switches to power mode. Press again to cancel GROOVE. Tip GROOVE is factory set to on.

20 GB Falling asleep to music — Sleep Timer You can set the system to turn off after a certain time, so that you can fall asleep to music. Press SLEEP on the remote.

Optional Components/Troubleshooting 25 GB Troubles hooting Problems and remedies If you have any problem using this system, use the following checklist. First, check that the power cord is connected firmly and that the speakers are connected correctly and firmly.
26 GB Problems and remedies (continued) The sound skips. • Wipe the CD clean (see page 29). • Replace the CD. • Try moving the system to a place without vibration (e.g., on top of a stable stand). • Try moving the speakers away from the system, or placing them on separate stands.
Troubleshooting 27 GB If the system still does not operate properly after performing the above measures, reset the system as follows: 1 Unplug the power cord. 2 Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet. 3 Press ?/1 to turn on the system. 4 Press x , ?/1 and ENTER at the same time.
