9 Instructions f or the user 7. USING THE OVEN 7.1 General De scription 7.1.1 Oven rac ks The o v en f eat ures 4 runner s for positioning tra ys and grills at d ifferent heights. The inser tions heights ar e numbere d from th e bottom upward s (see figure).
10 Instructions f or the user 7.3 Description of the contr ols on the fr ont panel All the appliance's control and monitor ing devices are placed together on the front panel.
11 Instructions f or the user T em perature Display DSP2 This displa y shows th e preset temper ature f or the function required, or the temperature set by the user . The follo wing symbols coming on indicate: Recommended runner: recommended r unner number according to the selected cooking recipe.
12 Instructions f or the user 7.4 Operating modes This appliance is programmed to provide 3 operating settings, which can be modified by pressing PT2. ST AND-BY setting: with DSP1 on and showing the current time (activated as soon as the current time has been confirmed).
13 Instructions f or the user 7.6.1 Cooking with preset temperature After selection of the function re quire d, the ov en will star t the cook ing procedure at the pre set temperature and the symbol will come on. Cooking itself is preceeded by a preheating stage, which allows the ov en to heat to the cooking temperature more quickly .
14 Instructions f or the user 7.7 Programmed coo king pr ocedures 7.7.1 Semiautomatic cooking Semiautomatic cooking is the functio n which allows a cooking operation to be star ted and then end ed after a specif i c length of time set by the user . Select a function (see paragraph “7.
15 Instructions f or the user After setting the duration, press PT1 once. The symbol and the current time will ap pear on the display . T ur ning PT1 to the right increa ses the time, allowing the cooking star t time required to be set .
16 Instructions f or the user 7.8 Sel ecting a re cipe The ov en has 9 preset recipes and 3 memories; a recipe is a set of function, temperature and cooking times presettings. In the ON state o nly , a recipe can be selecte d by simply turning PT2 to the right or le ft.
17 Instructions f or the user 7.8.3 Selecting a recipe permane ntly The ov en has 9 preset recipes (see “T able of predefined recipes:” at page 18), and 3 to set according to your own named cooking preferences . In addition, you can modify the other reci pes that are already preset.

19 Instructions f or the user 7.10 Sec ondary menu This appliance al so has a concealed "secondar y menu" allowing the user to: 1 Activat e or deactiv ate the child saf ety de vice 2 Activate or deactiv ate the Showroom mode (which disables all the heating elements so that only the co ntrol panel works).
20 Instructions f or the user 8. COOKING WITH THE O VEN ECO: Using the grill and the bottom heating element plus the fan is particul arly suitable for cooking small quantities of food, as it pro vides low energy consumption.
21 Instructions f or the user VENTILATED ST A TIC: The operation of the fan combined with tr aditional cooking, ensures uniform coo king ev en with complex recipes. P erfect f or biscuits and cakes , e ven when simultaneously cooked on se ver al lev els.
22 Instructions f or the user THA WING: Rapid thawing is helped by s witching on the fan provided and the top heating e lement that ensure uniform distribution of low temperature air inside the oven. In the pyrolithic models this function integrates the proving.
23 Instructions f or the user 8.1 COOKING HINTS AND TIPS HINTS ON USING THE A CCESSORIES: • Use only SMEG original tra ys . • When the tray is in the ov en, the handle must be f acing the ov en door . • Push the tra ys right inside the oven. • Use only SMEG original rac ks .
24 Instructions f or the user COOKING HINTS FOR MEA T : • Cooking times, especially meat, vary accordi ng to the thickness and quality of the f ood and to consumer taste. • T o save energy when roasting, we recommend putting the f ood in the cold ov en.
25 Instructions f or the user HINTS FOR THA WING AND PRO VING: • W e recommend positioning frozen f oods in a lidless container on the first runner of the oven. • The food must be tha wed without its wrapping. • Lay out the f oodstuffs to be thawed e v enly , no t ov erlapp ing.

28 Instructions f or the user ROTISSERIE COOKING Prepare the rotisser ie rod with the food, tightening the screws A of the prongs. Fit the frame B onto the second run ners from the bottom. Remov e the handle D and po sition the rotisser ie ro d so that the pulley E is still in the guides on the frame B.
29 Instructions f or the user 9. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE Before perf orming any operations requir ing access to p owered par ts, switch off the po wer supply to the appliance.
30 Instructions f or the user 9.4 Cle aning th e inside o f the oven F or best ov en upkeep clean regularly after having allowed to cool. T ake out all r emo v ab le pa r ts. • Clean the oven grill and side guide s with hot water and non-abrasive detergent.
31 Instructions f or the user 10. EXTRA ORDINAR Y MAINTENANCE The ov en ma y require extraordinary ma i ntenance or replacement of par ts subject to wear such as seals, bulbs , and so on. The f ollowing instructions describe how to carr y out these minor maintenance operations.
32 Instructions f or the user 10.2.2 Remo ving door s with pins Open the door completely and inser t the pins (supplied) into the holes from the inside. Close the door to an angle of about 45° and lift it off . T o reassemble, fit the hinges into their groo ves , then lo wer t he door into place and extract the pins .
33 Instructions f or the user Remo ving the internal glass: • Remov e the interna l glass pane by pulling it towards you, f ollowing the mov ement indicated by the arrows. Doing this dislodges the 4 pins attached to the glass from their slots in the oven door Removing the middle glass panes: • Multifuncti on models have a single middl e pane.
34 Instructions f or the user 10.5 What to d o if. The oven displa y is full off • Chec k the mains power supply . • Check whether an omnipo lar switch upstream from the ov en f eed line is in the “ON” position.

INST ALLING THE APPLIANCE 11.1 Electrical conne ction The I.D . plate with technical data, registrati on number and brand name is positioned visibly on the o ven door fr ame. The plate must not be removed. The appliance must be connected to ear th in compliance with electr ical system safety regulations.
36 Instructions f or the installer 11.2 P osi tioning the o ven The ov en is designed f or mounting into any piece of furnitu re as long as it is heat-resistant. Proceed acording to the dimensions shown in Figures 1 , 2 and 3 . For installing under a wor k top , follo w the dimensions given in Figure 1 - 3 .
37 Instructions f or the installer It is recommended to install the ov en with the help of a second person. W ARNING: When the oven has been e xtracted from the packing base, av oid resting the product on the ground as this could cause deformati on of the drip tra ys.
