1-1 C HAPTER 1 I NTRODUCTION This sw itch provides a broad range of features for Layer 2 switching . It include s a management agent t hat allows you to conf igure the featu res listed in this manual. The default configuration can be used for most of t he featu res provid ed by thi s switch.
I NTR ODU C TIO N 1-2 Descri ption of Softwa re Featu res IEEE 802.1D Bridge – T he switch supports IEEE 802.1D t ransparent bridgin g . The address table facil itates d ata switchin g by lear ning a ddresse s , and then filtering or forward ing traf fic base d on this infor mat ion.
