Chapter 1 Overview The SMART Podium ID422w interactive pen display works with your comp uter and SMART Board™ driver s to create an interactive present ation environment. The SMART Podium ID4 22w includes dynamic and interactive tools for creating presentation s and lessons.
2 | CHAPTER 1 – OVERVIEW The T ethered Pen By using the tethered pen on the intera ctive pen display , you can control and manipulate items on your screen and write and e rase digital ink. Y ou can store the pen in the compartment on the top of the unit.
3 | CHAPTER 1 – OVERVIEW Power The interactive pe n display uses a sing le 12V DC power supply , which comes with the unit. NOTE The interactive pe n display switches to the ap propriate voltage automatic ally . Power Saving The SMART Podium ID422w conforms to the Vi deo Electronics S tandards Association (VESA®) pow er saving guidelines.

6 | CHAPTER 2 – INSTALLING THE SMART PODIUM ID422w System Requirement s Before installing the SMAR T Podium ID422w , make sure that your computer mee ts the following minimum syste m requirements.
7 | CHAPTER 2 – INSTALLING THE SMART PODIUM ID422w Monitors and Projectors Y ou can use the SMART Podium ID422w alone or with another display . Y ou may connect a second device, such as an LCD projector or a monitor , to the SMART Podium ID422w DVI OUT port.
8 | CHAPTER 2 – INSTALLING THE SMART PODIUM ID422w T o alleviate glare, you can use the attached tilt stand to angle the interactive pen display . Alternatively , use a tilt st and that conforms to the standard sizes set by VESA. When installing a VESA compliant stand, us e M4 screws (4mm or 1/16" wide with a 0.

12 | CHAPTER 2 – INSTALLING THE SMART PODIUM ID422w NOTES • If an image has fine striping (such as screen stripes), it may appear to flicker or display a wavy pattern. • Do not apply excessive pressur e on th e display surface. It may cause the appearance of a wavy or pooling p attern.
13 | CHAPTER 2 – INSTALLING THE SMART PODIUM ID422w Integrating a Monitor or a Projector Y ou can connect a projector or another monito r directly to the interactive pen display . With this setup, whatever you view on the interactive pen display also appears on the other display .

OSD Options Functions Language • Language select s a language for the OSD menu. OSD Position • Ve r t i c a l adjusts the vertical position of the OSD menu.

21 | CHAPTER 2 – INSTALLING THE SMART PODIUM ID422w Adjusting the Display The OSD options enable you to optimize a variety of display settings at th e touch of a button. Make adjustments using the disp lay control buttons located on the upper left-ha nd edge of the unit.
