10 AXIS M10 Series - Accessing the Camera Setting the root password 1. When accessing the camera for the first time, the ‘ Configure Root Password ’ dialog appears. 2. Enter a password and re-enter to confirm. Click OK . The Enter Network Password dialog appears.
11 AXIS M10 Series - Accessing the Camera Setting the root password over a secure connection To gain access to the product, you must set the password for the default administrator user - ‘root’. This is done in the ‘Configure Root Password’ dialog, which appears when the net work camera is acce ssed for the first time.

15 AXIS M10 Series - Video Streams AXIS Media Control (AMC) AXIS Media Control (AMC) in Microsof t Internet Explorer in Windows is the recommended method of accessing live video from the network camera. The AMC control panel can be used to configure various video and audio settings.

18 AXIS M10 Series - Video & Audio Settings Pixel Counter - The pixel counter is useful in situations where ther e is a re quirement that the image is a certain s ize, for example face recognition. To set the size of the rectangle enter the number of pixels in the Width and Height fields and click Apply .
19 AXIS M10 Series - Video & Audio Settings White balance This is used to compensate for the different colors present in different light sources, to make the colors in the image appear the same. The AXIS M10 Series can be se t to automatically identify the light source and compensate for its color.

Note: To receive synchronized video in H.264 /MPEG-4 and audio, it is recommended that the time settings in the camera and client computer are synchronized with an NT P Server.

23 AXIS M10 Series - Video & Audio Settings Default Viewer From the drop-down lists, select the default method for viewing video images for your browser. The camera attempts to show the video images in the selected video form at and viewer. If this is not possible, the camera overrides the settings and select s the best available combination.
24 AXIS M10 Series - Video & Audio Settings User-defined Links User-defined links can be CGI links or web links. Once configured, the link(s) appear on the Live View page. To set up a web link, select the Use as web link radio button, enter a descriptive name and enter the URL in the provided field.

27 AXIS M10 Series - Event Configuration Event Configuration An event or Event Typ e in the camera triggers certain actions when activated. An event type is a set of parameters that defines these actions. A common event type is an alarm that causes the camera to upload images.
28 AXIS M10 Series - Event Configuration Example: If somebody passes in front of a came ra and an event has been configured to detect and respond to motion, the camera can record and save images to an FTP server, and can send a notification e-mail to an e-mail address.
29 AXIS M10 Series - Event Configuration Continue image upload (unbuffered) - enables the upload of video images for a fi xed length of time. Specify the length of time for the uploaded recording, in seconds, minutes or hours, or for as long as the trigger is active.
30 AXIS M10 Series - Event Configuration Motion Detection The AXIS M10 Series can detect moving objects in its field of vision using video motion detection. The AXIS M1031-W and AXIS M1054 can also detect infrared object motion using the PIR Sensor (see page 31 ).

37 AXIS M10 Series - System Options Use NAT traversal when your network camera is loca ted on an intran et (LAN) and you wi sh to make it available from the other (WAN) side of a NAT router. With NAT traversal properly configured, all HTTP traf fic to an external HTTP port in the NAT router is forwarded to the camera.
