2-2-5 Connecting to W eb Managem ent Interface All fun ctions and setti ngs of this access p oint must be configured vi a the web management i nterface. Please start your web brows er, and inpu t ‘192.168.0.234 ’ in the address bar, and press t he ‘Enter’ ke y.

2-4 Select an Op erating Mode for Wireless Access Point This access p oint can be operated i n different m odes; you can cli ck ‘ Basic Settin g ’ to select an ope rating mode y ou want to me et f.
2-4-1 AP Mode This i s the most commo n mode. Wh en in AP mo de, this access p oint acts as a bridge between 802.11b /g/Dra ft-N wirel ess devices an d wired Ethern et network, and exchange data between th em. The WL- 331 Access Point uses “AP M ode” as d efault setting .
2-4-2 Station-Inf rastructure In this mode, y ou can c onnect the acce ss point to Ethernet devi ce such us TV and Game player to enabl e the Ethern et device be a wi reless stati on and j oin to a wirel ess network through an acc ess poi nt or AP router.
2-4-2-1 Wireless Site Survey The table wi ll list t he access poin ts nearby as th e access point is set to Stati on mode; you can sel ect one of th e access poi nts to assoc iate. Select Click the radi o button to select the acce ss point. Channel Display to chan nel num ber of the acc ess point.
2-4-3 Universal Repeater In this mode, th e acces s point can act as a wir eless repeate r; it can be S tation an d AP at the same ti me. It can use Stati on functi on to connect to a R oot AP and use AP functi on to service al l wireless sta tions wi thin its coverage.
2-4-4 AP Bridge- Point to Point Mode In this mode, th is wi reless access poin t will conn ect to another wi reless acc ess point which uses the same m ode, and al l wired Ether net clients of both wi reless acce ss point s will be conne cted togeth er.
2-4-5 AP Bridge- Point to Multi- Point Mode In this mode, th is wi reless access poin t will conn ect to up to fou r wireless a ccess point s which uses the same m ode, and al l wired Ether net clients of every wirel ess access poin ts will be conne cted togeth er.
2-4-5 AP Bridge- WDS Mode In this mode, th is wi reless access poin t will conn ect to up to fou r wireless a ccess point s which uses the same m ode, and al l wired Ether net clients of every wirel ess access poin ts will be conne cted togeth er. You can us e this mode to conn ect a netwo rk to othe r networks whi ch is ph ysically i solated.
2-5 Wireless Sec urity This wi reless access poi nt provides m any types of wi reless securi ty (wirel ess data encrypti on). When you use data enc ryption, da ta transferred by radio si gnals in th e air will become u nreadable for those peopl e who don’t know correct encrypt ion key (encrypti on password).
2-5-2 WPA Pre-s hared Key WPA Pre-shar ed key is t he safest encrypt ion meth od currently, and i t’s recommend ed to use this enc ryption met hod to ensure th e safety o f your data.
2-5-3 WEP WEP (Wired Equival ent Privacy) is a comm on encrypti on mode, it ’s safe enough for home and personal use. But i f you need hi gher level of security, pleas e consider u sing WPA encrypti on (see next Secti on).
2-5-4 WPA RADIUS WPA Radi us is the combi nation of WPA encryption method and RAD IUS user authenti cation. If you h ave a RADIUS au thenti cation server, you can check th e identi fy of every wi reless cli ent by user databas e.
2-6 Advanced W ireless Settings This wi reless access poi nt has many ad vanced wi reless features. Pl ease note th at all settings li sted here are f or experi enced users on ly, if you’re not sure abou t the meani ng and functi on of these set tings, please d on’t modi fy them, or the wirel ess performanc e will be reduc ed.
Preambl e Type Set the typ e of preambl e of wireles s radio, Do not modify default valu e if you do n’t know wh at it is, defa ult setting is ‘Short Pr eamble’. Broadcast ESSID Decide if th e wireless access p oint will broadcast its own ESSID or not.
2-7 RADIUS Server Comparing to other wi reless security mea sures, radiu s server provi des user-ba sed authenti cation. If your wireless cli ent supports 802.1 x user auth entication, you can use the ‘Radiu s Server’ func tion to use the internal mini radius server t o improve se curity and wi reless user contr ol.

3-2 Configuration B ackup and Restore You can backup all configurations of thi s access p oint to a file, so y ou can make se veral copied of acce ss point configuration fo r securit y reason.
3-3 Firmware Upgrade If there are ne w firmwa re of thi s wireless acces s point avail able, you can upload th e firmware to th e access poi nt to chang e the firmware wi th new one, t o get extra fun ctions or probl em fix.
3-4 System Reset When you th ink the acc ess point i s not workin g properly, you can us e thi s function to restart the ac cess poin t; this may hel p and solve the p roblem. This fun ction is useful when the access point i s far from you or un reachabl e.
