14 St ep 1: Choose a Loc ation for Y our Radio When inst alling the Str atus 6 in your vehicle , choose a location wher e it will not block your vision, int erfere with the c ontrols, or obstruct an y air bags.

16 V ehicle Inst allation St ep 2: Install the V ent or Dash Mount Depending on your sit uation, you c an either choose t o use the Dash Mount or the V ent Mount. Installing the Dash Mount: CA UTION! T he a dh es ive use d on the Das h Mo un t ma y b e di ff icu lt t o r emo ve .
17 4 Clean the surf ace with the alcohol prep ar ation pad and let it dry thoroughly . 5 Peel o ff the adhesiv e liner . Position, pre ss, and hold the Dash Mount and Po wer C onnect V ehicle Dock in place f or 30 sec onds. IMPORT ANT! Allow the Dash Mount adhesive to cur e (dry ) for a minimum of 2 -4 hours bef ore using the mount .
18 V ehicle Inst allation Installing the Vent Mount: 1 Loc ate a v ent with horizont al louver s stur dy enough to hold your Po wer C onnect V ehicle Dock and r adio. 2 If the vent louv ers in your v ehicle are rec essed, you ma y need to us e the longer vent clamps with the V ent Mount.
19 3 At tach the V ent Mount to the Po wer C onnect V ehicle Dock using the pro vided screw s. 4 Push the V ent Mount ont o the vehicle v ent as shown (1) until it hooks on the r ear of the v ent louver (2).
20 St ep 3: Mount the Magnetic Mount Ant enna The Magnetic Mount An tenna c ontains a str ong magnet which will stick to an y metal part o f your v ehicle, but will not damage the vehicle . To i nst al l the Mag ne tic M ou nt A nte nn a: 1 Choose the bes t location f or your antenna c onsidering your o wn personal situation.
21 SUV : We r ecommend mounting the antenna at the r ear of the roo f as shown. Con vertible: We r ecommend mounting the antenna at the leading edge of the trunk as sho wn. Pickup T ruck: We r ecommend mounting the antenna abo ve the front windshield as shown.
22 2 At tach the Rubber T ail to the ant enna and pre ss the ant enna cable int o the Rubber T ail. The Rubber T ail will help to position the an tenna the c orrect distanc e from the edge of the r oof or trunk lid. 3 Clean the surf ace of the select ed mounting location using the alc ohol prep ar ation pad and let it dry thoroughly .

27 St ep 4: Rout e the Magnetic Mount Ant enna Cable Bef ore y ou begin routing the antenna c able, re ad these gener al instructions for ho w to r oute and hide the antenna c able. T hen route y our antenna cable acc ording t o the instructions which follow f or your specific type o f vehicle .
28 Route cable out from under rear windshield moulding and tuck into weatherstripping around trunk opening Pull weatherstripping from trunk opening Tuck cable into weather- stripping.
29 Bring cable out of weatherstripping and into trunk Route cable along trunk wall and into cabin through gap or conduit, along existing wiring harness Route cable along trunk wall and into cabin.
30 Use a blunt plastic putty knife or similar blunt tool trim and tuck cable under trim. Continue towards front of vehicle Route cable from trunk under interior trim, into cabin and towards front of v.
31 TIP! Alwa ys be careful t o include enough slack in your cable to accommodat e open doors or trunk lids. Use things typic ally found around the home, lik e electrical tape, t o secur e cables in ar eas so that hinges do not pinch the cable with the door .
32 • Sedan/ Coupe With Ant enna Placed at the R ear of the R oof: 1. F eed the antenna cable fr om the antenna underneath the rubber molding around the r ear window . Use a blunt plastic put ty knife or similar blunt tool t o lift the rubber molding around the rear windo w and tuck the ant enna cable underneath the molding.

Us e a blunt plastic putt y knife or similar blunt tool t o lift the rubber molding around the windshield and tuck the ant enna cable underneath the molding.
35 • SUV : 1. F eed the antenna cable underne ath the rubber weather stripping of the r ear tailgate windo w / door and rout e the cable along the re ar hatch. Lift the w eather stripping fr om the opening and tuck the cable inside it , then replac e the weather stripping.
36 or contr ols. Secure the e xces s cable with wir e ties (purchased separ ately ). 4. Bring the end of the cable out at the P ower Connect V ehicle Dock location. L eav e your self enough cable so y ou can easily c onnect it to the ant enna connector of the dock.

38 • Pickup T ruck: 1. Use a blunt plas tic putt y knife or similar blunt t ool to lift the rubber molding around the windshield and t uck the antenna c able underneath it. 2. Continue tucking the c able underneath the windshield molding around the windshield t o the lowest c orner .
39 St ep 5: Connect the Magnetic Mount Ant enna and Power Connect P ow er Adapt er 1 Plug the Magnetic Mount Ant enna into the silver ANT c onnector on the P ow er Connect V ehicle Dock. 2 Insert the Po wer C onnect Po wer Adapter into y our vehicle’ s cigaret te lighter or pow er adapter s ocke t.
40 St ep 6: Connect the A udio T o play audio thr ough your v ehicle’ s stereo or FM r adio, decide on one o f the follo wing audio connection options: • Option 1 : Bes t : Use the included A ux In Cable if y our vehicle ’s s ter eo sy stem has an auxiliary input connection.
41 Option 1: A ux In Cable Inst allation Instructions 1 Plug one end of the Aux In C able into the green A UDIO connector on the dock. 2 Plug the other end into the auxiliary input jack c onnection of your vehicle ’ s ster eo sy stem.
42 4 Po wer on y our Strat us 6 by pr essing the Pow er butt on . 5 Be sur e the vehicle is outside and the ant enna has a clear view o f the sky . V erify that y ou are rec eiving the SIRIUS signal. Ther e should at least be one bar on the upper right corner o f the main display scr een that denote s antenna signal s trength.
43 If the signal rec eption is good, but there is no audio when tuned to channel 184, be sur e the vehicle ’s s ter eo syst em is set to the corr ect sourc e, i. e., auxiliary input sour ce ( step 7). Also be sur e that the audio level is set high enough to be hear d (st ep 9).
44 Option 2: Cas set te A dapter Installation Ins tructions 1 Plug the Cass ett e Adapter into the gr een A UDIO connect or on the dock. 2 Insert the Cass ett e Adapt er in the vehicle ’s cass ett e deck. Y ou may need to turn on y our vehicle ’ s ster eo sy stem in order t o do so.
45 4 Po wer on y our Strat us 6 by pr essing the Po wer but ton . 5 Be sur e the vehicle is outside and the ant enna has a clear view o f the sky . V erify that y ou are rec eiving the SIRIUS signal. 48 4 Y ou’ll firs t need to find an a v ailable FM channel. An av ailable FM channel is one that’ s not being used by an FM r adio station in y our are a. When y ou tune y our FM r adio to an a vailable channel, y ou should only hear st atic or silence – not t alk or music.

68 Special F eatur es P arental L ock Y our Str atus 6 has the ability to lock channels y ou do not want other s (such as children ) to acc ess without y our permission. Locked channels will not appe ar in th e c ha nn e l or category list . The def ault lock code is 0000.
69 5 Enter a ne w 4 digit code using the 0–9 number buttons . 6 Once y ou have enter ed the code you will then be pr ompted to enter the ne w code again to con firm. If you en ter ed the same lock code again, the c ode is sav ed. 7 Pre ss and hold menu to e xit.

74 C onfiguring Y our S tr atus 6 Sirius ID Y our Str atus 6 has a numeric 12-digit ID which uniquely identifie s the r adio. T his ID is used during the activ ation proc ess. To display the Sirius ID: 1 Pre ss and hold menu until the menu options ar e displayed.
75 Find A vailable FM Channels in Y our Area Bef ore at tempting any of the pr ocedure s below , y ou should park y our vehicle in a safe loc ation. Do not attempt t o set up y our FM channels or any Str atus 6 function while driving. Po wer C onnect allow s you t o listen to SIRIUS audio thr ough your vehicle ’s FM r adio.

To turn the FM Transmitter On or Off: 1 Pre ss and hold menu until the menu options ar e displayed.
79 C onfiguring Y our S tr atus 6 Set and S elect an FM Channel The Str atus 6 allow s you t o easily stor e (i.e ., preset ) up to 5 diff erent FM channels. A t any time, y ou can s elect any one o f these 5 FM pr esets to tr ansmit audio from the S tr atus 6 t o your v ehicle’ s FM radio.
