AXIS Q7424–R Mk II Video Encoder Media Streams The AMC Control P anel can be used to congure various video and audio settings. Please see the AXIS Media Control User’s Manual for more information. The AMC Control P anel is automatically installed on rst use, after which it can be congured.
AXIS Q7424–R Mk II Video Encoder Media Streams Note • <ip>= IP addess • The Axis product supports QuickTime 6.5.1 and later . • QuickTime may add latency to the video stream. • It may be possible to use other players to view the H.264 stream using the paths above, although Axis does not guarantee this.
AXIS Q7424–R Mk II Video Encoder Set Up the Product Set Up the Product The Axis product can be congured by users with administrator or operator rights. To open the product’s Setup pages, click Setup in the top right-hand corner of the Live View page.
AXIS Q7424–R Mk II Video Encoder Video and Audio Video and Audio The video and audio settings can be used to optimize video and audio quality . Y ou can congure the following: • Video stream settings. See page 19 . • Stream proles. See page 20 .
AXIS Q7424–R Mk II Video Encoder Video and Audio H.264 H.264, also known as MPEG-4 P art 1 0/A VC, is a video compression standard that provides high quality video streams at low bit rates. An H.264 video stream consists of different types of frames such as I-frames and P-frames.
AXIS Q7424–R Mk II Video Encoder Video and Audio For quick setup, use one of the predened stream proles. Each predened prole has a descriptive name, indicating its purpose. If required, the predened stream proles can be modied and new customized stream proles can be created.
AXIS Q7424–R Mk II Video Encoder Video and Audio To enable overlays: 1. Go to Video & Audio > Video Stream and select the Image tab . 2. T o include an overlay image, select Include overlay image at the coordinates . The overlay image must rst be uploaded to the Axis product, see Overlay Image .

AXIS Q7424–R Mk II Video Encoder Configure the Live View Page • H.264 decoder installation . The administrator can disable installation of the H.264 decoder included with AXIS Media Control. This is used to prevent installation of unlicensed copies.
AXIS Q7424–R Mk II Video Encoder PTZ (Pan Tilt Zoom) PTZ (Pan Tilt Zoom) Preset P ositions A preset position is a saved view that can be used to quickly steer the camera to a specic position.
AXIS Q7424–R Mk II Video Encoder PTZ (Pan Tilt Zoom) 2. Enter a descriptive name. 3. Specify the pause length between runs. 4. Select an available preset position and click Apply . 5. Specify the Move Speed . 6. Specify the View Time in seconds or minutes.

For example, if the tilt control is disabled, the product can still move to preset positions that require a tilt movement. Install PTZ Driver This Axis product supports several PTZ devices.
AXIS Q7424–R Mk II Video Encoder Detectors Detectors Camera T ampering Camera Tampering can generate an alarm whenever the camera is repositioned, or when the lens is covered, sprayed or severely defocused. To send an alarm, for example an email, an action rule must be set up.
AXIS Q7424–R Mk II Video Encoder Detectors Note • Using the motion detection feature may decrease the product’s overall performance. • The position of the Motion Detection Window is relative to the orientation of the Camera. Changing the orientation of the camera will also change the position of the Motion Detection Window .
AXIS Q7424–R Mk II Video Encoder Detectors Note • T o trigger on small objects or movements, use several small motion detection windows rather than one large window and select a low object size. • T o avoid triggering on small objects, select a high object size.
AXIS Q7424–R Mk II Video Encoder Applications Applications Third party applications can be uploaded to and installed on the Axis product. Applications add functionality to the product, for example video analytics and intelligent video capabilities such as recognition, tracking, detection and counting.

AXIS Q7424–R Mk II Video Encoder Events Events The Event pages allow you to congure the Axis product to perform actions when different events occur . For example, the product can start a recording or send an email notication when motion is detected.

Triggers Available action rule triggers and conditions include: • Applications – Use installed applications to trigger the rule. See Applications on page 34 . • Detectors - Audio Detection – Trigger the rule when audio is detected.
