Playback Functions NOTE Some operations in the following playback functions cannot be performed depending on the specifications of the disc. • Fast Forward/Reverse (Sear ch) BD VIDEO BD-R BD-RE DVD VIDEO DVD-R DVD-RW AUDIO CD The Fast Forward/Reverse function is enabled when G REV or J FWD is pressed during playback.
Playback Functions Repeat Playback of a Title or Chapter (Repeat Playback) BD VIDEO BD-R BD-RE DVD VIDEO DVD-R DVD-RW AUDIO CD Play back the title or chapter you want to repeat. Press REPEA T . Press a / b to select the type of Repeat Playback. Playback Title: Repeats the title currently being played back.
Playback Functions Displaying the Audio Information Y ou can display the audio information on the disc currently being played back by pr essing AUDIO . The displayed contents vary depending on the disc. DVD VIDEO BD VIDEO The audio channel currently being played back will be displayed.
Settings During Playback Function Control BD VIDEO BD-R BD-RE DVD VIDEO DVD-R DVD-RW AUDIO CD This allows you to adjust various settings at once, like subtitles, angle settings and the title selection for Direct Playback. Y ou can adjust the video and audio to suit your prefer ences.
Settings During Playback Functions which can be set Shows the title number being played back (or track number when playing back an audio CD). Y ou can skip to the start of the title (or track). T o skip to the start of a selected title (or track), press the Number buttons to enter the title (or track) number when this option is highlighted.
SETTINGS Common operations The “menu” enables various audio/visual settings and adjustments on the functions using the remote contr ol unit. Y ou need to call up the On Screen Display to perform settings for this player . The following is the explanation for the basic operations of the “menu”.
SETTINGS Audio Video Settings TV Aspect Ratio Y ou can set the screen aspect ratio of the connected TV , and adjust the video output. If you switch your TV (i.e. because you have bought a new one) and the screen aspect ratio of the connected TV changes, you will have to change the “TV Aspect Ratio” setting.
SETTINGS Auto Power Off This sets the Player so that power is automatically shut off if playback is stopped and you do not perform any operations for about 10 minutes. Y es, No Front LED If you feel that the indicators on the player are too bright when watching movies, you can turn them off except for the B (On/Standby) indicator .
SETTINGS V ersion When you select “V ersion”, the system software version is displayed. System System Reset Y ou can reset all settings to the factory presets. Reset, Not Reset PIN Code Setting This sets the PIN code for setting or changing the Parental Contr ol Level.
SETTINGS Communication Setup This allows you to perform and/or change the communication settings and select the type of Internet connection from Cable or Wireless (built-in). This setting is requir ed to use BD-LIVE functions and software updates that connect to the Internet.
SETTINGS When using Wireless LAN CAUTION When a LAN cable is connected to this player , a wireless LAN connection is not available. T o use wireless LAN, do not connect a LAN cable to this player . When performing the wireless communication setup, security information for the wireless router/access point (WEP , WP A or WP A2 key) is required.
Select “Next”, then press ENTER . For testing after confirming the settings, select “T est”, then press ENTER . If the test has failed, an error message appears. Retry to perform the settings after checking that the connection (page 23) is performed properly .
The operation procedur e for inputting characters manually NOTE Numeric characters such as IP address can be entered on the input screen either by selecting each of the characters in the “Numeric” mode or using the Number buttons on the remote control.
SETTINGS Press a / b to select “USB Memory Management”, then press d or ENTER . The “USB Memory Management” screen is displayed. “No USB Memory” appears when no USB memory is inserted. Press d or ENTER to pr oceed. Erase: Deletes only BD-VIDEO data written on the USB memory device such as BD-LIVE data.
SETTINGS Software Update Settings In this player , the software version can be updated using either one of the following methods. Manual Update from Network Manual Update from USB memory device Manual.
SETTINGS Manual Update from USB memory device This function allows software updates by inserting a USB memory device with the update file into the USB terminal on this player . When a software update is performed, the software update data must be written onto the USB memory device in advance using a PC.
SETTINGS The current version of this unit software and the version of the update file on the USB memory device are displayed. T o update this player software with update file, select “Y es”, and press ENTER . Software update file is detected in the USB memory device.
