2 MV45 Multivision ® This unit uses digital technology to process and stor e the video information r eceived from a camera. The incoming video image is transformed into a digital signal by an analog-to-digital (A/D) converter . This information is stor ed in memory and clocked out at a rate predetermined by the video pr ocessor .

Installation and Operation Manual 5 REAR P ANEL DESCRIPTION 1–4. camera inputs/outputs — BNC connectors (looping) for four camera input signals to the unit by means of coax cable. The drawing (above the monitor connector) shows each camera number in the position it is displayed on the monitor .

A contact closure will command the unit to initiate the alarm mode. • fir st alarm — If the unit is in the quad mode, the first alarm will signal the unit to go full screen, light the corresponding indicator and display the on-scr een alarm message.

12 MV45 Multivision ® Alar m Response First Alarm — If the unit is in quad mode, the first alarm will signal the unit to go to full screen, light the alarm indicator and display the on-screen alarm message.
Installation and Operation Manual 13 Video Loss Alar m This unit is equipped with a video loss alarm feature. If ON (the default setting) and video from any camera is lost, the unit responds in the following manner: • Cameras displayed in quad on the monitor will automatically freeze the last image befor e video was lost.
14 MV45 Multivision ® SPECIAL FUNCTIONS NO T E : This unit is equipped with special functions to provide maximum utility . Instructions to operate each special function f ollow . Quad Demo Operation with One Camera This is used for demonstrating quad operation with only one camera connected.
Installation and Operation Manual 15 4. T o set dwell time for the camera 1 display , press and hold the right cursor button until the cursor moves to the DWL = 03 display . Use the up and down buttons to select a dwell time in seconds fr om 00 (bypass the camera) to 99 seconds.
