3 The HMEC 46 headset The HMEC 46 headset with No iseGard™ active noise co m- pensation features dynamic, open headphones. The noise-compensating condenser microphone ensures ex- cellent speech transmission even in noisy environments. Designed for use in ai rcraft cockpits.

5 Putting on the headset When putting on the headse t, the patented two-piece headband adjust s au tomatically. Positioning the microphone Bend the flexible microphone boom so that the micro- p h o n e i s p l a c e d a t t h e c o r n e r o f t h e m o u t h .
6 Flipping away one earcu p The headset features a “fl ip-away” earcup for single- sided listening. Adjusting the volum e directly on the intercom Connect the headset to the co rresponding sockets of your intercom. Adjust the volume directly on the intercom.
7 Adjusting the microphone sensitivity The microphone sensitivity has been factory pre-set to 40 mV/Pa as per RTCA DO-214. You can change the microphone sensitivity b y turning a small scr ewdriver in the direction of the arrow. + – Book_51xxxx_1 106_SP6.

10 Using the headset Switching N oiseGard™ on/of f The NoiseGard™ ON/OFF switch allow s you to switch the NoiseGard™ active noise compe nsation on or off. With NoiseGard™ switched off, th e headset can be used as a conventional headset. 왘 Set the NoiseGard™ ON/OFF switch to the desired position: ON: NoiseGard™ is switched on.
11 Switching between mo no and stereo mode The mono/stere o switch allows you to switch between mono ( ) and stereo ( ) mode , depending on the intercom system. 왘 Set the mono/stereo swit ch to the desired position: mono ( ) or stereo ( ).
12 The operating time with batt eries/rechargeable batteries is approx. 100 hours. With NoiseGard™ switched on (see page 10), the LED provides information on the remaining battery/ rechargeable battery capacity. LED ligh ts up yellow : The batte ry capacit y is sufficient.
13 Connecting a mobile tel ephone The 2.5 mm jack socket al lows you to connect a mo bile telephone. For this purpose, the NoiseGard™ active noise compensation must be swit ched on and the microphone connector must be connected to the aircraft rad io/ intercom.
14 Connecting an additional audio player The 3.5 mm jack socket allows you to connect and listen to an audio player (not supplied) through the headset. For this purpose , the NoiseGard™ active noise compens ation must be swit ched on. 왘 Connect the audio cable to the 3.
15 Care and mainten ance Cleaning the headset Use a soft, slightly damp cloth to clean the headset from time to time. If the headset is very dir ty, use a cloth dampened with mild, soapy water. Replacing the earp ads For reasons of hygiene, the earpads should be replaced from time to time.
16 Accessories and spare parts By changing the cables, you can simply retrofit different operating controls (see “The operating controls of the HMEC 46” on page 8 and 9) or connectors (see “Product variants” on page 17) to your headset. y Cable -CP Cat.
