USING THE 1 26/226 C OMPUTER LCD Display Descr iptions TIME Display s the work out TIME. The TIME will count down from the TIME you entered when beginning the program and shows the TIME remaining for y our workout. INTERV AL TIME Display s the INTERV AL TIME.
USING THE 1 26/226 C OMPUTER A uto Shut-Of f (Sleep Mode) The console will automatically shut of f in approximately 2 minutes without use or input. There is no on/of f switc h. (P ress an y but ton to pow er up the console and “ENTER P ROGR AM” appears in the alphanumeric display .
SOFTWARE FEA TURES Quick Start: This is a “ one-touc h” w ay of starting the Manual P rogram. 1 Manual Progr am: Y ou manually adjust the resist ance level during y our workout to mak e the program easier or more c hallenging.
There are limitations ho we v er . It ma y overestimate body f at in athletes and others who hav e a muscular build. It may also underestimate body fat in older persons and others who ha ve lost muscle mass.
When y ou press the RECO VER Y but ton and there is no heart rate signal or displa y , the console will sho w “NEED HR” and the HEAR T RA TE ICON on the display will blink.

STEPS T O GETTING ST ARTED Once y ou have made the commitment to st art ex ercising at home, here are some suggestions that ma y help you stay motiv ated. The first step is the most dif ficult. Any new habit is difficult to establish at first, but it can be done.

Do what f eels good, but also remember to mix it up. Don ’t just do traditional “reac h and hold” stretc hes. Also, tr y gently moving through a range of motion that is comfortable to you. For example, you don ’t hav e to stretc h your nec k simply by pulling on y our head with y our hand.

These Zones can be translated into target heart rate numbers if your home fitness product has a grip or telemetric heart rate counter . Researc h has shown the best wa y to do this is not to establish heart rate numbers based upon age, but rather based upon how you f eel.
