Replacing the Fuser Oil Unit 9 1 R Plug in the p ower cable and turn on the power sw itch. Note ❒ If you dispose of the used toner cartridges by yourself, dispose of them according to lo cal regu- lations.

Replace Black PCU (Type F) If "Replace Color PCU (Ty pe A)" ap- pears on the panel display, replace the three color Photoco nducto r Units.
Replacing the Photoconductor Unit 11 1 F Lift the inner cover until it clicks into place and holds. The Ph oto con ducto r Un it s are in- stalled as shown in the illustration. The black Photoconductor Un it is at the uppe r left period. The other three are color Photoconductor Units .
Replacing Consumables and Maintenance Kit 12 1 C Lift and ho ld the green hand le at the top ( A A A A ), and pull out the unit slowly ( B B B B ). H Install a new Photocond uctor Unit. For black, install one, and for color, install three. A Take the unit out from the bag.
Replacing the Photoconductor Unit 13 1 E Remove the co ver and pu sh in the Photoconductor Unit until it stops. I Lower the inn er cover slow ly. J Tighten two screw s using prov id- ed screwdriver . Note ❒ Be sure to return the provided sc rewd riv er to its or igi nal po si- tion on th e back of the fron t cov- er.
Replacing Consumables and Maintenance Kit 14 1 Replacing the Development Unit If "Repla ce Blac k Dev. Unit( TypeD)" appears on the panel display, replac e the black Development Unit. Replace Black Dev. Unit(Typ eD) If "Replace Color Dev.
Replacing the Development Unit 15 1 F Lift the inner cover until it clicks into place and holds. The Development Unit is installed shown in the illus tration. Starting from the u pper left, the units are attach ed in the orde r of blac k (K), yellow (Y), cyan (C) , and magenta (M).

Replacing the Fusing Unit 19 1 G Holding the green hand le, pull up the Fu sing Unit sl owly in the directi on of the arr ow, and then put it in a stable and level place. H Take out the new Fusing U nit from the bag and put it in a stable and level place.

N If you removed the E xternal Tray in step D , reattach it to the printer. Insert the hook s of the External Tray into the printer slits, and lower it toward y ou.

Set Sheet in Bypass, then # A Open the Bypass Tray. B Pull out the Byp ass Tray Exten- sion, and then flip it open.

Replacing the Dustproof Filter 23 1 Replacing the Dustproof Filter The dustproof fil ter is attached to the black D evelopment Un it. When re- placing the black Develop ment Unit, also replace the dustp roof filter. The dustproof fil ter is attached to the left side of the printer shown in the il- lustration .

31 2. Clearing and Adjusting the Printer Cautions to Take When Cl eaning R WARNING: R CAUTION: Clean the printer periodically to maintain fine printing. Dry wipe the exteri or with a soft clot h. I f dry wipi ng is not enough, wip e with a soft, wet cloth that is wrung out well.

45 3. Appendix Removing Misf ed Paper in the Duplex Feed Unit You can remove misfed paper from the Du plex Feed Unit following th e procedure below. Note ❒ When a paper misfeed occ urs in the Duplex Fe ed Unit, the prin ter usually sends the misfed paper to the right cover and there is no need to exe cute follow ing pro cedure.
