8 System Components Your AcerPower computer system is made up of several components. These include the computer itself, the monito r, keyboard, and speaker set. 12 Setting up your system Arranging a comforta ble work area Working safely begins with the arrangement of you r work space and the proper use o f equipment. For this reason, it is very important to take tim e and think a bout how yo u are goin g to arrange your work area .
13 Positioning your monitor Plac e your monitor at a comfo rtable vi ewing distance, usually 50 to 60 centimeters away. Adjust the displ ay in such a way that the top of the screen is at o r slightly be low eye l evel. Positioning your key board The l ocation of the k eyboard is a very importan t factor to your postur e.
14 Connecting peripher als Setting up your computer is easy. For the most part, you only have fou r things to con nect: the mouse, the ke yboard, the monitor, and th e powe r cable. Mouse Plug the mouse cab le into the the USB port (black port) or the PS/2 mo use port (gree n port) located on the rea r panel of your computer.
