Getting Started 3 Getting Started Key Functions 1. Speaker: The speaker allows you to hear the other caller and the different ring tones and sounds offered by your phone. 2. Signal Strength Indicator: This icon represents the signal strength by displaying bars.

Getting Started 9 Getting Started T urning Y our Phone On and Off T o turn your phone on: • Press to turn your phone on. Once your phone is On, it displays “Looking for Service” which indicates that your phone is sear ching for a signal. When your phone finds a sign al, it automatically enters standby mode – the phone’ s idle state.
10 Getting Start ed provides approximately 3 hours of continuous digital talk time or approximately 8 days of continuous digital standby time. When the battery reaches 5% of its capacity , the batter y icon blinks. When there are approximately two minut es of talk time left, the phone sounds an aud ible alert and then powers down.

Push the bat ter y release latc h up comp letely . 3. Using the side tab s, pull the top of the battery away from the phone and remove.

Roaming 31 Roaming Roaming Understanding Roaming Recognizing Icons on th e Display Screen Y o ur phone’ s display screen always lets you know when you’re off the network. The following chart indicates what you’ll see depending on where you’r e using your phone.
32 Roaming • Though callers can leave voicem ail messages while you are roaming, you will not r eceive notification until you return to the network. While roaming, you can periodically check your voicemail f or new mess ages by dialing 1+area code+your Phone Number .

42 Call History Call History Viewing Histor y Y ou’ll find the Call Histor y feature ver y helpful. It is a list of the last 20 phone numb ers (or Contacts entries) for ca lls you mi ssed, made, or accepted. Call Histor y makes redialing a number fast and easy .

Secret Contacts Entries Y ou can hide an entr y’ s phone number(s) and require your lock code to edit the entr y by ma king it secret. The entr y name is still displaye d, but the entry’ s phone numbers are replaced with “(SECRET).

Changing the Group Name Y ou can associate a preset group name to your entries to help you sort the m easier in the Contacts. Messaging 51 Messaging Messaging Now you can exchange text and email messages right from your phone and stay connected without saying a word. Within the Messaging menu you can also vi ew the number of voicemail messages you have waiting for you. For more information on using your phone’ s voicemail feature, see “Using Voicemail” on page 25.

56 Messaging Priori ty There are two priority le vels associated with te xt messaging. They are: • Normal : this option sends the message as normal with regular deliver y . • Urgent : this option sends the message at the highest level and alerts the recipient that it is urgent.

Voice Services 77 Voice Services Voice Services Activating V oice Recognition V oice recognition allows you to say commands to per form common functions supported by your phone. Ther e is no voice training required to use the voice recognitio n feature.
78 Voice Services Using voice Dial V oice Di al allows you to dial any valid 7, 10 or 11 digit North American phone number by speaking the number naturally , without pausing between the digits. This feature also supports name dial for names sa ved as Contacts.
