20 Section 2 External Disp lay Y our phone has an external display on the front of the phone. It in dicates when you have an inc oming cal l or message. It also di splays date, time, r eception, battery power , and any icons associated with alerts, such as messages, or a set alarm.

22 Section 2 Selecting Functions and Options Y our phone of fers a set of functions that can be customized for your ease and specific needs. These functions ar e arranged in menus and sub-menus , accessed using the two soft keys. Each menu and su b- menu allows you to view and alter the settings of a particular function.

Clear Key The CLR key is used to erase or clear numbers, text, or symbols fr om the display .

26 Section 2 Speakerphone Key Use the speakerphone key (loc ated on the right side of your phone) to switch fr om using the earpiece to the speakerphone during a call. Use the volume keys (l ocated on the left side of your phone) to adjust the volume.

28 Section 3 Making a Call When the Idle scr een display s, enter the ar ea code and phone number , and press the key . Note: When you activate the Auto Redi al option i n the Ex tra S ettings m enu, the phone will aut omaticall y redial up to 10 times when the person do es not answer the call or is alread y on the phone.

30 Section 3 Adjusting the Call V olume During a call, if you want to adjust the earpiece volume, use the V olume ke ys on th e left side o f the phone. Pr ess the key to incr ease th e volume level and th e key to decrease the lev el. In Idle mode, you can al so adjust the ringer volume us ing these keys.

48 Section 5 Changing the T ext Input Mode The T ext Input option switches the key entry functions from T 9 Mode, ABC Mode, Numeric Mode, and Symbols Mode. T9 Mode This mode allo ws you to en ter wo rds with onl y one keystr oke per le tter . Each key on th e keypad h as more than one letter; for example, pressin g the 5 key can enter J, K, or L.
