7 Char ging a Ba tter y Y our phone is powered by a rechargeable Li -ion ba ttery . Use the tra vel adapto r to charge the battery , and use only Sam sung approved batteries and chargers. Note: Y ou must fully ch arge the ba ttery be fore using yo ur phone for the first time.

9 Low Batter y Indi cator When the batt ery is weak and only a few mi nutes of ta lk time rema in, a warning tone sounds, the “Battery Lo w” message repeats at regular inte r vals on the displ ay , and the empt y batter y ic on blinks. It turns off when n o keys ar e pressed within a given period of time, and/or dims the light, depend ing on the settings in th e Backlig ht T ime menu.
17 Appears when t here is no network coverage a vailable. When you are out of the ser vi ce area, you cannot make or receiv e voice calls. Appears when a n alar m is set on your phone. Appears when your incoming pho ne calls are being forwarded to another number .

21 Clear K ey The CLR key is used to erase or clear num bers, tex t , or symbols from the display . Y ou can also use to return to a previous menu or to return to standby mode from any menu. • If you enter an incorre ct character , brie fly press to backspa ce (and delete) the character .

Call Functi ons 24 Making a Call • T o clear another digit in the number , p ress the Left or Rig ht Navigation key until the cursor is immediately to the right o f the digit to be cleared. Press the key . • T o enter a miss ing digit press the Left or Right Navigation key until the cursor is in position and enter the digit.

Call Functi ons 28 Call Time 4. Select t he location of your Ad dress Book : • Pho ne : This option allows you to save the missed n umber to your Address Book stored on the phone. •S I M : This option allows you to save the missed number to your Address Book stored on the optional SIM card.

Call Functi ons 30 Silent Mode Silent Mode Silent mode is convenient when you wish to stop the phone from making noise, in a theater for e xample. In Idle mode , press and hold the key until th e phone vibrates , the “Silent Profil e on” message appears on screen.
31 T o mak e a call while you hav e a call in progress: 1. Place the current call on hold using the previous procedures. 2. Enter the new phone number th at you wish to di al or l ook it up in the Address Book. 3. Press the key to dial the second ca ll.
