Section 13 200 Health and Safety Information Exposure to Radio Frequency (RF) Signals Certification Information (SAR) Y our wireless phone is a radio transmitter and recei ver . It is designed and manufactur ed not to exceed the exposure limits for radio f requency (RF) energy set by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) of the U.
Section 13: Health and Safety Information 201 Health and Safety Information Section 13 SAR tests are conducted using standard operating positions accepted by the FCC with the phone transmitting at its highest certifie d power level in all tested frequency bands.
Section 13 202 • Head: .24 W/Kg. • Body-worn: .7 W/Kg. SAR information on this and other model phones can be viewed on-line a t www .fcc .gov/oet/fccid. T o find information that pertains to a particular model phone, this site uses the phone FCC ID number which is usually printed somewher e on the case of the phone.
Section 13: Health and Safety Information 203 Consumer Information on Wireless Phones Section 13 Consumer Information on Wireless Phones The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has published a series of Qu estions and Answers for consumers relating to radio freque ncy (RF) exposure from wireless phones.
Section 13 204 while being us ed. They als o emit very l ow levels of RF when in the s tand-by mode. Wh ereas high levels of RF can produce health ef fects (by heat ing tissue), exposure to low level RF that does not produc e heating ef fects causes no known adverse health ef fects.

Section 13: Health and Safety Information 209 Consumer Information on Wireless Phones Section 13 • If you must conduct extend ed conversations by wireles s phone every day , you could place more distance between your body and the source of the RF , since the exposure level drops off dramatically with distance.
Section 13 210 Do hands-free kits for wireless phones reduce risks from exposure to RF emissions? Since there are no kno wn risks from exposure to RF emissions from w ireless phones, there is no reason to believe that hands-free kits reduce risks. Hands-free kits can be used with wir eless phones for convenience and comfort.
Section 13: Health and Safety Information 211 Consumer Information on Wireless Phones Section 13 that sold devices that claimed to protect wir eless phone users fr om radiatio n wi th making false and unsubstantiated claims.
