It turns off if no key is pressed within a given period of time, depending on the Backlight option set in the Phone Settings menu.
16 Y Y o o u u r r P P h h o o n n e e 17 Getting Started Installing the SIM Card and the Battery When you subscribe to a cellular network, you are provided with a SIM card loaded with your subscription details, such as your PIN, any optional services available and so on.

If the Mute keys option is selected, your phone does not transmit the key tones. Note : T o communicate with answering machines or computerised telephony systems, the Send keys option must be selected.

When the idle screen is displayed, press the PhoneBook soft key , then you can select one of the services.
45 44 Entering Text When storing a name in the phonebook, creating your personal greeting or scheduling events in your calendar , you will need to enter text. Y ou are provided with the following text input modes. T9 Mode This mode allows you to enter words with only one keystroke per letter .
47 46 Using the T9 Mode T o type a word, proceed as follows. 1. Start entering the word by pressing keys to . Press each key only once for each letter . Example : T o enter Hello in the T9 mode, press , , , a nd . The word you are typing appears in the display .

When entering the same letter twice or a different letter on the same key , just wait a few seconds for the cursor to move right automatically , and then enter the next letter . Changing the Case T o change the case of the next letter(s) that you type, press .
Using the Number Mode The Number mode enables you to enter numbers. Press the keys corresponding to the required digits before manually switching back to the appropriate text input mode. Using the Symbolic Mode The Symbolic mode enables you to insert symbols in a text message.

57 Call Records Via this menu, you can view: • Missed calls • Received calls • Dialled calls The number and name (if available) are displayed together with the date and time at which the call was made. Y ou can also view call times and costs. Missed Calls Menu 1-1 This option lets you view the last 15 unanswered calls.

The following options are available. Last Call Cost : cost of the last call made. T otal Cost : total cost of all calls made since the cost counter was last reset.

These messages are called “ picture messages ” , several of which are preset in the phone and can be replaced with new ones received from other sources.

Discard : allows you to discard the picture message without saving it. Cut Number : allows you to extract a number from the picture message, so that you can call the number or save it in the phonebook.
69 Voice Functions In the V oice Functions menu, you can use voice features, such as: • V oice dial • V oice command • V oice memo • AnswerPhone V oice Dial Menu 3-1 The voice dialling feature allows you to make phone calls by saying a voice tag that has been added to a name and phone number in the phonebook.

Stopwatch Menu 6-10 The stopwatch can be used to measure times for various sports. Example : Running or swimming races. Up to four stopwatches can be used. The precision of the stopwatch is one hundredth of a second. The maximum measurement time is 10 hours.
