6 .2 < Faxing (Option al)> • Mailbox : Used to store a rece ived fax or orig inals in the ma chine memo ry which are ready to be p olled. Y ou can use a mailbo x on the same machi ne you are using, or the one on a rem ote machin e. Each mail box h as a corre spond ing mail box number , name and passwo rd.
6 .3 < Faxing (Option al)> Sending a fax ma nually (On Hook Dial) 1 Press Fax from th e Main scree n. 2 Place the originals face up into the DADF . 3 Adjust the docu ment sett ings in th e Im age tab. 4 Select Duplex a nd Resolution option s in t he Basic tab.
6 .4 < Faxing (Option al)> Note Start Time is the speci fic time you want th e fax to be sent . Y ou can set St ar t Time on a 24 hour basis and 15 mi nutes later than the curren t time. For ex ample, if it is 1:00 , then you can s et the time st arting from 1:15 .

This feature allows yo u to program up to 15 i ndividu al Mailbo x. Befo re you sto re the o rigina ls, the Mailb ox must be created .

6 .11 < Faxing (Optiona l)> Forwarding a received fa x to other d estination Y ou can se t the machine t o forward the received or sent fax to other destinati on by a fa x or an email. If you are out of off ice but h ave to rec eive the fax, th is feature may b e useful.
7 .1 < Scanning > 7 Scanning Scanning w ith your mac hine let s you tu rn hard copy ori ginals int o digital files. There a re two way s to scan original s, one is using th e USB cable to direct.
7 .2 < Scanning > • Subject / M essag e : Subject and mess age of the emai l. • Remove All : Erases e verything in the in put area. • Address : In puts the rec ipient's address just by p ressing stored addresse s. Y ou can store frequent ly used email addresse s from your com puter usin g the SyncThru W eb Service .
7 .3 < Scanning > • Scan Prese t : Autom atica lly chan ges some s c an op tions su ch as file form at, resolu tion, and more . Y ou can adjust options to f it each specific purpo se.
7 .4 < Scanning > Group 1 Acce ss to the SyncThru W eb Service fr om your comput er . 2 Make sure y ou ha ve config ured Individual Address Book . 3 Click Machine Settings > E-m ail S et up > Group Address Bo ok . Then t he screen shows Group Address Book on the right side.

10 .3 < Maintenan ce> 3 Wipe the s urface of the sc anner glass an d DADF glass un til it is clean an d dry . 4 Wipe the u nderside of the scanner lid and white s heet until it is clean an d dry .
10 .4 < Maintenan ce> 3 T urn the cartrid ge lock ing lever toward the right until you hear a 'click' , to rel ease the t oner ca rtridge. 4 Lift th e locking lever a nd pull the toner cartridge out. 5 Remove th e new toner car tridge f rom it s bag.

11 .2 < Troubleshoot ing> Roller misfee d 1 Open the scanner lid. 2 Grasp th e misfed pa per , and remov e the paper fr om the feed area by carefu lly pull ing it to the right usin g both hands. 3 Close the scann er lid. The n load the remov ed pa ges back into the DADF .
11 .3 < Troubleshoot ing> 2 Remove th e jamme d pape r by gently pull ing it stra ight o ut. Once y ou remov e the ja mmed pape r here, open the side cove r and then clo se it to c lear the err o r messa ge on the d i spla y . If there is any resist ance, a nd the paper does not mov e immed iately w hen you pu ll, stop p ulling.

11 .9 < Troubleshoot ing> Check Fa x Kit The f ax kit is not inst alled , or the fax is not wo rking prope rly . Reinst all th e fax kit . If the pr oblem pe rsists , please ca ll for servi ce. Check Hard Drive The hard disk drive does no t work prope rly .
11 .10 < Troubleshoot ing> Fax Memory is low . A vailable fax memory i s now 1MB. Delete the received fax dat a in the memor y to secu re memory . Call for servi ce. Feed Jam at MP Tr a y Pape r Mi sfed fr om multi -pur pose t ray Clear the jam.

When the printed page related messa ge appears on the scr een, if you selec t Continue , this m essag e displ ays. When the toner page count rea ched messag e appears on the scre en, press Cont inue to conti nue the pr inting job .
11 .14 < Troubleshoot ing> The pa per ke eps jammi ng. • There is too much pap er in the t ray . Remo ve excess pape r from the tray . If yo u are pr inting on spec ial materi als, use the m ulti-pu rpose tray . • An incorrect type of paper is being us ed.
11 .15 < Troubleshoot ing> The machi ne sele cts prin t materi als from the wrong paper source . The pa per op tion tha t was se lected in the printer properti es may b e inco rrec t. For many sof tware applicati ons, the p aper source selecti on is found under the Paper t ab within the printer properti es.
11 .16 < Troubleshoot ing> Printing quality problems If the insi de of the mach ine is di rty or p aper has been loaded imp roperly , you may notice a reduction in prin t quality .
11 .17 < Troubleshoot ing> V ertical repetitive defec ts If mark s repeate dly appear on the pri nted sid e of th e page at even inte rva ls: • The drum c artridge may be d amaged. If a repe titiv e mark occu rs on th e page , run a cleani ng sheet thro ugh several tim es to clean the ca rtridge; co ntact a servi c e represen tat ive.
11 .18 < Troubleshoot ing> Loos e toner • Clean the inside of the machine. Conta ct a servic e represen tative . • Check the p aper type and quality . (Page 4.3) • Remove the d rum cartridge a nd then, in stall a new one. (Page 1 0.3) • If the pr oblem persists, the mach ine ma y require rep air .
