Understanding Y our Phone 18 Y our Phone’ s Modes Backlights Backlights illuminate the disp lay and the key pad. When you press any key or open the phone , the backli ghts come on. They go off when no keys are pressed wi thin a period of time set in the Backlight menu.

21 Camera Mode Camera mode lets you activate your phone’ s camera to take pictures. In Camera mode, you can also adjust the resoluti on and appearance of your pictures. See “Multimedia” on page 95 for more information. • Entering Camera Mode — In standby mode, pres s the Camera key ( ) — on the right side of the phone.

23 Three-w ay Ca lling Call two other numbers and connect them to your call using three-way calling. 1. In standby mode, en ter the nu mber for the first party in you r call, then press . 2. When conne cted, ask t he other party t o remain on the line.
Call Functio ns 24 Making a Call 2-T ouch Dialing Use 2-touch dialing to speed di al Con tacts from 10 through 99. 1. In standby mode, press a nd releas e the number key representing the first digit of the desired Cont act’ s speed dial number .
25 V oice Dialin g Tips: • Wait for the beep before speaking. • S peak clearly a t a normal v olume, as if yo u were talk ing to someone o n the phone. • When saying a name, say the fi rst name then the last name. Dialing a Name T o dial a name, do the follo wing: 1.

Call Functio ns 28 Answering a Call Call Answ er Select from t wo methods for ans wering call s. This option can be changed in the Settings menu. 1. In standby mode, press the MENU (left) soft key ( ) , then press (for Settings ), (for Call Settings ), an d for Call Answer .
29 Ignore an Incom ing Call Ignored calls are i mmedia tely fo rwarded to Voicemail. 䊳 During an incoming ca ll, press the Ignore (right) soft key ( ). The incoming c all is forward ed to Voice mail. In-Use Me nu Y ou can access a numb er of menus a nd features even while in a call.
Call Functio ns 30 Calls Outgoing Call s The last 90 ou tgoing calls are stored in the Outgoing c alls log. Revi ew the Outgoin g calls log f or the time and da te of a call, as well as other informa tion. 1. In standby mode, press the MENU (left) soft key ( ), then press (for Calls ) and for Outgoing Calls .
31 •E r a s e — Erase the selected call from your Incoming call list. •L o c k / Unlock — Blocks/permits erasure of th e selected call from your Incoming call list.
Call Functio ns 32 Calls (for Calls ) and for All Calls . The All Calls list appears in the display with the first ca ll in the list highlighted. 2. Press the Options (right) soft key ( ) to display a pop-up menu that contain s the fo llowing option s: •S a v e — Save the number to you r Contacts.

45 Built- in QWERTY K eypad Y our r410 has a built-in, key board-style keypad, commonly called QWERTY , that you can access by sliding it open from beneat h the top section of the phone. Th is also automatical ly rotates the image in the d i splay to show information in a wider , landscape forma t.
Entering T ext 46 Using T9® Mode (Phone Keypad Only) • Abc — Enter letters, n umbers, and symbol s by using the QWER TY keypad or by repeatedly pressing each phone key until the desired character (as shown on the key) appears in the display .

91 V oice Settings Choice Lists When VoiceSignal cannot recogniz e a name or number , it displays a choic e list of up to three possible choices, and prompt s you to confirm the correct one. Y ou can select how VoiceSignal will use choice li sts with name dial ing , digit dialing, and contacts.
