Getting Started 5 Using the Batter y Note: This phone comes packaged with a partially charged rechargeable standard Li-Ion battery and wall charger. Y ou must fully charge the battery before using your phone for the first time. A fully discharged battery requires up to 4 hours of charge time.
6 Installing the Batter y 1. Lift the battery cover from the top end of th e handset. 2. Insert the top end of the ba ttery into the phone housing using the directional arrow printe d on the battery . The gold contacts at the battery end must align with cont acts on the phone.

22 Section 3: Call Functions This section describes how to make or answer a ca ll. It also includes the features and function ality assoc iated with making or answering a call. Making a Call 䊳 From the home screen, enter the number to call using the numeric keypad and press .
Call Functions 23 – Press to open the highlighted me nu or to activate the feature. Note: During a call, turn on Whisper Mode when speaking softly or when the caller cannot hear your voice clearly . This mode is useful in meetings or public places. • V oice Privacy : Allows you to turn On or Off the advanced voice encryp tion for pr ivacy .

T o use Name Dialing, after the bee p, say the name of the contact that you want to dial. 6. The name that you said is repeated through the sp eaker and your phone dials the number .
32 Send Picture Send Picture al lows you to a ccess the Picture Messaging menu. Y ou can use entr ies stored in My Pictures or you can take a picture of an image using the camera.

Entering T ext 43 Section 5: Entering T ext This section outlines how to sele ct the desired te xt input mode when entering characters into your phone. This section also describes how to use Word text entry system to reduce the amount of key st rokes associated with e ntering text.

Speed dialing allows you to pres s and hold a key (or keys) to dial the number assoc iated with thos e key(s). There are three types of speed dialing; 1-touch , 2-touch , and 3-touc h dialin g .

Note: T o quic kly view all messages in the Inbox, Sent, or Drafts folders, open one message and then press the directional key right to view the next message or press the Directional key left to view the previous message.
