Understanding Y our Phone 18 Y our Phone’s Modes Backlights Backlights illuminate the display a nd the keypad. When you press any key or open the phone, the b acklights come on. They go off whe n no keys are pressed within a period of time set in the Backlight menu.

21 Camera Mode Camera mode lets you activate your phone’ s camera to take pictures. In Camera mode, you can also adjust the resoluti on and appearance of your pictures. 23 Three-wa y Calling Call two other numbers and connect them to your call using three-way calling. 1. In standby mode, en ter the number for the first party in your call, then press . 2. When connecte d, ask the other party t o remain on the line. Press to place them on hold.

Call Functions 28 Answering a Call Call Answer Select from two methods fo r answering c all s. This option can be changed in the Settings menu. 1. In standby mode, press the MENU (left) soft key ( ), then press (for Settings ), (for Call Settings ), and for Call Answer .
29 Ignore an Incoming Ca ll Ignored calls are immedi ately forwarded to Voicemail. 䊳 During an incoming call, pre ss the Ignore (right) soft key ( ). The incoming call is forwarded to V oicemail. In-Use Menu Y ou can access a number of menus a nd features even while in a call.
Call Functions 30 Calls Outgoing Calls The last 90 outgoi ng calls are stored in the Outgoing calls log. Re view the Outgoing calls log for the tim e and date of a call, as we ll as other informa tion. 1. In standby mode, press the MENU (left) soft key ( ), then press (for Calls ) and for Outgoing Calls .

45 Built-in QWER TY Ke ypad Y our r410 has a built-in, keyboard-style keypad, commonly called QWERTY , that you can access by sliding it open from beneat h the top section of the phone. This also automatically rotates the im age in the display to show in formation in a wider , landscape format.
Entering T ext 46 Using T9® Mode (Phone Keypad Only) • Abc — Enter letters, numbers, and symbol s by using the QWERTY keypad or by repeatedly pressing each phone key until the desired character (as shown on the key) appears in the display .
47 • For practice, enter the word “Sam sung” by pressing each of the following keys only once : T9 Word recognizes t hat the most commonly used word for the numeric sequence you just entered is “Samsung.” If more than one word shares the same numeric sequence, T9 Word provides the most common ly used word.

91 V oice Settings Choice Lists When VoiceSignal canno t recognize a na me or number , it displays a choice list o f up to three possible choices, and prompt s you to confirm the correct one. Y ou can select how VoiceSignal will use choice li sts with name dial ing, dig it dialing, and contacts.
Voic e S VC 9 2 Voice Settings Note: After you adapt Digit D ial, your phone is customized to your vo ice, and your vo ice only. Others will not be able to use it unles s they reset the phone to facto ry defaults. Adaptation involves rec ordi ng several sequences of four digits each.
