28 _ Maintenance 3. Gently shake the toner cartri dge from side to side five or six times to redistribute the toner. 4. Rein sert the toner cartridge into th e machine. Ensure that the toner cartridge snaps into p lace. 5. Close the front cover. Make sure that the cover is securely closed.

33 _ Troubleshoot ing Printing problems The paper keeps jamming. • There is too much paper in the tray. Remove excess paper from the tray. If you are p rinting on special materials, load only o ne size of print media at a time in the tray. • An incorrect type of paper is being used.
Troubleshooting _3 4 The machin e selects print materials from the wrong pa per source. The paper source selection in the printer properties may be incorrect. For many software applications, the paper source selection is found under the Paper tab within the printer properties.
