Capturing photos Basic functions 37 Digital zoom The Digital zoom is supported by default in Shooting mode. If you z oom in on a subject in Shooting mode and the zoom indicator is in the digital range, y our camera is using the Digital zoom. By using both the 5X Optical zoom and 5X Digital zoom, you can zoom in up t o 25 times.

Shooting options 63 Selec ting a resolution As you increase the r esolution, your photo or video will include more pix els, so it can be printed on larger paper or display ed on a larger screen. When you use a high resolution, the le size will also increase .
Selecting a resolution and quality Shooting options 64 Selec ting an image quality Set a photo quality setting. Higher image quality settings will result in larger le sizes. The camera compresses and saves the phot os you capture in the JPEG format.
