5 Installing the Ba tter y Note: Y our phone comes packa ged with a partially charged rechargeable standard Li-Ion batter y and travel adapter . Important!: Y ou must fully charge the ba ttery the first time you use your phone, otherwise you could damage the batter y .
Getting Started 6 Remo ving the Batter y 1. Push down on the battery cover (1). 2. Slide the b attery cover down. 3. Lift the batt ery cover off of the p hone (2), bott om end first. 4. 29 Section 3: Call Functions This section explains how to make and answer calls. This section also describes the features and functionality asso ciated with making or answering calls. T ur ning the Phone Functions On and Off When se t to Off , the Wireless Manager’ s Phone option disables al l radio functions of your phone.
Call Functions 30 Dialing Emer gency Numbers T o place an em ergency call: 1. With the phone on, enter 911 using the keypad. 2. Press to place the call . Y ou can specify other numbers as emergenc y numbers using the Emergency # settings. F or more information, refer to “Emergenc y Numbers” on p age 123.

Y ou can have your Contacts en tries sorted by name. Conta ct I nf or ma tion Up to 500 entries can be stored in the Phonebook.

41 Section 6: Messaging This section explains how to send or receive different ty pes of messages. This section also describes the features and functionality associat ed with the various types of messaging.
Messaging 42 Note: There is a 160-character limit for text messages. If you send a text message with more than 160 characters, the message is trunca ted after the first 160 characters and the remaining characters are then sent in consecutive messages until the entire messa ge text has been sent.

Available Shooting Modes are: Sin gle Sh ot (shown), Multi Shot ( ), Mosaic Shot ( ), Funny Mask ( ), and Smile Dete ction ( ) .

Highlight the Shooting Mode icon ( , , , , or ). The follo wing Shot T ype options appear in the display: • Single Shot — — Lets you t ake 1 phot o at a time .

The Settings menu appears in the display with the Camera tab and Quality setting highlighted.

Camera – Camcorder 92 The next time you press , the countdown Self T imer indicate s the time remaining before th e camera takes the picture. The phone reads the countdown timer value to you beginning with two or three an d continuing to zero, when the picture is taken.
