The term “power tool” in all of the war nings listed below r efers to your mains-operated (corded) power tool or battery-operated (cordless) power tool.

7 DOUBLE INSULA TION Double insulation is a concept in safety in electric power tools, which eliminates the need for the usual three-wir e grounded power cor d. All exposed metal parts are isolated from the inter nal metal motor components with pr otect- ing insu lation.

9 FEA TURES KNOW YOUR RIGHT ANGLE DRILL See Figure 1. Before attempting to use this product, familiarize yourself with all operating features and safety rules. CHUCK KEY A chuck key has been provided for use when installing or removing bits and removing the chuck.
10 INST ALLING THE PIPE HANDLE See Figure 2. n Unplug the drill. n Insert the pipe handle into the 3/4 NPT threaded hole on the side of the drill. n Turn the handle clockwise to securely hand-tighten the handle. n The pipe handle may be installed either on the left or right side of the drill.
11 OPERA TION WARNING: Do not allow familiarity with tools to make you careless. Remember that a careless fraction of a second is sufficient to inflict sever e injury . WARNING: Always wear safety goggles or safety glasses with side shields when operating tools.
12 SWITCH TRIGGER See Figure 6. T o turn the drill ON , depress the switch trigger . Release switch trigger to turn the drill OFF . FORWARD/REVERSE SWITCH See Figure 6. The dir ection of chuck rot ation is reversible and is contr olled by a forward/r everse switch located on the handle of the drill.
13 BIT SELECTION WARNING: Do not use bits lar ger than the ones listed for HIGH (3) speed in the chart below when drilling at HIGH speed. Using a bit that is too lar ge for high speed applications can r esult in seriou s personal injury and can cause damage to the tool.
14 DRILLING See Figures 9 - 11. n Attach the pipe handle. n Select the appropriate position for the bail handle. n �Set the speed selector at the desired speed for the type of bit you are using. n Check the direction of rotation lever for correct setting (forward or reverse).
15 MAINTENANCE WARNING: This tool should never be con nect ed to a power supply when you are performing main te nance. Disconnecting the tool will pre vent ac ci den tal starting that could cause serious in ju ry . BRUSH REPLACEMENT See Figure 12. The drill has externally accessible brush assemblies that should be periodically checked for wear .
16 MAINTENANCE Fig. 13 CHUCK REMOV AL See Figures 13 - 15. T o remove the chuck: n Unplug the drill. n Select LOW (1) speed. n Open chuck jaws using the provided chuck key . n Insert a 3/8 in. or larger hex key wrench into the chuck of the drill and tighten the chuck jaws se cure ly .
