6 SPECIFICA TIONS Double Insulation Double insulation is a concept in safety in electric power tools, which eliminates the need for the usual three-wire grounded power cord. All exposed metal parts are isolated from the internal metal motor components with protecting insulation.
7 UNP ACKING Instructions When unpacking the drill: ■ Carefully remove the tool and accessories from the box. ■ Make sure that all items listed in the packing list are in- cluded. ■ Inspect the tool carefully to make sure no breakage or damage occurred during shipping.
8 FEA TURES Before using this tool, familiarize yourself with all operating features and safety requirements. However , do not let familiarity with the tool make you careless. W ARNING: Exercise caution when using the drill. Careless ac- tions, for even a fraction of a second, can result in serious personal injury .
9 W ARNING: The tool should never be connected to a power sup- ply when you are assembling parts, making adjust- ments, cleaning, performing maintenance, or when the tool is not in use. Disconnecting the tool will pre- vent accidental starting that could cause serious in- jury .

14 ADJUSTMENTS Fig. 9 Chuck Removal See Figure 9 and 10. The chuck must be removed in order to use some accesso- ries. T o remove: 1. Unplug the drill. 2. Open chuck jaws using the provided chuck key . 3. Insert a 5/16 inch (8 mm) or larger hex key wrench into the chuck of the drill and tighten the chuck jaws securely .
