(2) This device must accept any inter ference receiv ed, including i nterference t hat may cause undesired operation.
2 1. System Requirements • Personal com puter , lapt op, desktop or IB M compatible w ith Pentium 166 MHz minimum, and w ith an activ e USB (Universal S erial Bus) port. • Windows 2000 / XP / Vista / Windows 7, CD ROM dri ve, color monitor , mouse and key board.
3 3. Name of part s We strongly suggest using a clean, dry, non -alcohol cotton swab to insert i nto the film sca nner slot and clean the glass surface periodically to p roduce a clea r image. Please make s ure your film, sl ide and holder ar e clean before i nserting into the scanner as well.
4 4 How to install slides and film into the tray holder a. Open the film h older as illustra ted b. Put a film/sli de in the film/sli de slot as show n.
5 5. Insert and take out SD card (optional ) • Insert SD car d before scanni ng. •Built in memory will be suspended when the SD car d is in use. • Please cl ose and then o pen the cov er after card i nserted. Note: This device does not suppor t hot-plug.
6 • Select Home Press S t art button to ba ck to capture mode. • Scanning T ype T o enter th e Film T ype, you can us e the Left or Right button t o select, press t he S tart b utton to confirm. Slide: Y ou need select the S lide mode w hen you scanner the slide.
7 • Exposure v alue To enter the E V mode, press th e Left or Right button to select , and press Start button to confi rm. Exposure comp ensation helps y ou change the ex posure setting man ually to adjust object lightin g.
8 • Single When you se lect the icon, press S t art button to confirm. Y ou ne ed press Lef t or Righ t button to review the next / prev ious picture. • Slide Show Use the Slid e Show feature to continue displ ay your photo s on the scanner screen pan el.
9 • Copy Select the icon, and press S tart button to confirm copy all images into SD ca rd from internal memory . • Exit Select the i con, and pr ess S tart b utton to confirm , then you w ill back the playbac k mode.

13 9. Now you can start to edit the picture as you like: First , click on the “ Photo Impression 6 ” icon on th e desktop. Foll ow the instructi ons to open t he software, and click on the pictur e to select , then use th e Arcsoft tools to edit the p ictures.
14 • Scan Primary Folders Only - Scans folders m ost commonly u sed for storin g media, such as My Documents, My P ictures and Deskto p. • Scan All Folders - Scans your entire computer f or media (ex cept Windows and Program Files folders). • Select t he folders you want to scan –Let you ch oose the folder s for scanning.
15 • Assign name s to image files as they ar e acquired (us ing today's da te or a descripti ve word). How to acquire images from a T WAIN compliant device: 1. Select a sc anner or othe r TW AIN device from the drop do wn list. 2. Choose the file format y ou want to use for the acquire d images (JPG).
16 In addition to the large photo workspace, th e Photo Editing T ools module incl udes five dist inct sets of controls: Enhance The Enhance fu nction includes two types of co ntrols: Auto Enhance Click "Auto En hance" button to improve the ov erall quality of y our pictures w ith a single click.
17 How to fix the color of a ph oto: 1. D rag the color balance sliders to make the photo color a ppear more nat ural. Add red or yellow to make the photo warmer .
18 4. Repeat the process un til all red eyes are fixed. 5. Click "Un do" if you make a mistake or don't like the re sult. Crop This feature enables you to t rim photos for d ramatic effec t or cut off the ugly/distracting parts of a picture.
19 Blur Background This feature can be used in a subtle way -- to t one down un-im portant backgro und details, or f or dramatic effe ct -- by making the main subjec t of a photo pop ou t of the picture. How to use Bl ur Background : 1. With your cur sor , trace a lin e around the pe rson or object y ou want to st and out.
20 2. Use the zoom control to z oom in on the bl emish. 3. Adjust the size of the healing brush so the cursor (circle) is only slightly larger than th e blemish. 4. Paint over the blemish. The area will be h ealed. Click "Undo" i f you make a mista ke or don't lik e the result.
