Y ou have selected a fine product designed to provide years of performance. Before attempting to use your Remote Control, please remove all parts from the box and read the instructions carefully .
2 T ab le Of Contents This Universal Remote Control is alr eady programmed for most RCA, GE and Pr oScan TVs, VCRs, DBS systems, DVD players, LaserDisc players and Audio/V ideo Receivers.
3 Y our RCU1000B Universal Remote requires 4 new AA alkaline batteries (batteries included). T o install the batteries: 1. T urn the remote over , push on the tab and slide the cover off. 2. Insert the batteries, matching the batteries to the (+) and (-) marks inside the battery case.
4 LCD Liquid Crystal Display . This display acts as the “virtual” keyboar d on the remote. The display is normally blank when the remote is not in use. Pr essing the SETUP or MACRO key , or touching anywhere on the LCD turns the display on. The r emaining Quick Access keys do not activate the display .
5 NA VIGA TION KEYS & SELECT KEY Use the NA VIGA TION keys to move the through on-screen menu and guides. The NA VIGA TION keys may also be used to move through the highlighted choices. The SELECT key will choose the highlighted choice. NOTE: W ith some manufactured models the MENU or ENTER key should be used to select the highlighted choices.
6 The Setup key is to the lower right of the LCD. T o enter the Setup Mode, press and hold the S ETUP key . Successive presses of the S ETUP key steps you thr ough all the available setup routines. These ar e: 1. Code Setup Mode? 2. Code Search Mode? 3.
7 T o program your remote to control your TV or VCR, or Cable, etc: Enter Setup by pressing and holding the SETUP key , then release... Press TV , or VCR, or Cable etc... Enter 3 digit code for your brand of TV , or VCR, or Cable etc. (from the code list).
