A waypoint is a position ma rk e d on a chart, radar or fishfinder window to indicate a site (for fishi ng, diving etc.

Chapter 3: W orking wit h W aypoints 31 3.3 Placing a waypoint A waypoint can be plac ed at: • T he cursor position. • Y our vessel’ s position. • At a position of you r choosing (using lat/lon or Loran TD coordinates betw een 80 0 N/S). When you are pla cing a w aypoint, y ou can e ither acce pt the default or customize its details.
32 C-Series Displa y Reference Manual 3.4 Navigating to a waypoint T hi s section explains how to start and stop navi gating to a waypoint. When you navigate to a waypoint or to the cursor position, the data is sent on NMEA 0183 and SeaT alk and can be use d by an a utopilot , if co nnected.

Chapte r 4: Using t he Chart 91 Datum F o r your GPS and chart to cor relate accura tely with your pap er charts , they will nee d to be using the same datum. The default datum fo r yo ur display is WGS1984. If this is not suitabl e , you ca n change the se tting.

Y ou should ther efore ensure that this fe ature is swi tched off once you ha ve transition ed off of the errant c hart.
