8 MOUNTING Hook-and-Loop Mount ing For some dash boards, the hook-and- loop tape in cluded with you r detector mig ht be best for mounti ng. F ol low these st eps to use the hook- and-loop tape . 1. Use a damp cloth to cl ean the bottom of th e de t ec - tor and t he dashb oard.
9 Visor Mount ing The suppli ed sun visor cl ip lets you quic kly mount the detect or on your vehicl e’ s sun vi sor . W arning: Do not visor mount the det ector if this places the detec tor near the drive r ’s or a passenge r ’s hea d. Follo w these steps t o use the s un visor cli p.
10 Windshield Mountin g The supp lied suction- cup mount lets you mount t he detect or on the windshi el d. Caution : Do not use the suct ion-cup mo unt in a vehicl e that has a pl asti c coating on the wi ndshi eld desig ned to prote ct p assengers during an acci dent.

12 CONNECTING POWER Caution : Unplug the p ower cord’ s cigaret te-lig hter plug from y our veh i c l e’ s cig arett e- li ghter sock et when you turn off the igniti on. This pr events your vehicle’ s bat t ery from bei ng drained i f you leave the det ector on when you t urn of f th e ignit ion.
13 OPE RATI ON T URN ING THE DETECTO R ON AND OFF T o turn on the detec tor , tap P/V . The detect or sound s a di sti nctive t one and display s a text message for e ach band as a self test ( laser , Ka, K, X, and Safe ty Wa rning System, in order) , then the detect or displays the status of the Safety W ar ning Sys- tem and VG-2 featur es.
14 SELECTING THE CITY AND HIGHWAY MODES In t he ci t y m ode, the detec t or r equires a str onger X- band si gnal befor e it so unds an al ert. This eliminat es respon ses to mos t fal s e s our c es, suc h as auto m ati c door open ers and al arm syst ems.
15 AUDIO MODES While th e d etecto r is sounding a radar or Safety W arn- ing Syst em alert, you can pr ess AU D t o tempor arily sile nce i t. The dete ctor ret urns to normal operati on after the r adar s i gnal stops .
