Any appliance that burns natural g as, propane gas, fuel oil, wood or coal is capable of producing carbon monoxide (CO). Car bon Monoxide (CO) is a ga s which is od orless, color less and tasteless but is very toxi c. If your B IASI boiler is not wor king properl y, or is not vented p roperly, d angerous l evels of CO may accumulate.
The QHT Direct Vent components have been designed and packaged so that the Biasi B-10 and SG boilers can be directly vented to the outside. Properly maintained, these boiler systems are unsurpassed in efficiency and will p r ovide years of trouble-free operation.
5 DVH-5 V ent System QHT DIRECT VENT OIL KITS Apply 5” X 2’ insulati on sleeve fr om hood connection down over ex haust elbow before attaching S.S.
The Exhaust Hood must be installed on the leeward side of house and conform to the following guidelines: 1. The Vent hood shall be i nstalled 12” a bove ground le vel or 12” ab ove nominal snow level of t he region of the installation. 2. The Vent hood shall not be less than 3 feet abov e any forced air inlet to the house.
The boiler shall be placed so that the ve nt pipe is as s hort as practical. The VENT HOOD must be installed at least one foot above ground level or normal snow ac- cumulation level in an area which is free of obs truction at all tim es. The Vent hood should be installed on the leeward si de of the house out of the wind.
The B10/SG Direct Vent System s must be installe d where provisions do not exist for the du cting of combustion by products to the outside. The direct vent connector shall no t pass through any floor or ceiling. The burner exh aust must be duct ed directly to the vent hood t hrough listed e xhaust pipe s provided.
For DVH kits: 4. Use 4 inch dia meter flex pipe that is provi ded in the kit or a com parable single wal l metal pipe. The maximum allowable lengt h of intake pipe is ten feet not includin g elbows. 5. Begin instal ling the 4” tee t o the burner (R iello and Heat Wise require t he supplied 3” to 4” increase r to be installed first).

The electricity to the boiler shall com e from a dedicat ed breaker in the electr ic service box. A service switch shoul d be mounte d on the side of t he boiler so the burner technici an can service t he burner and cont rols. The electrical wiring should be routed so as not to interfere with normal servicing of the boiler.

20 7. Service & Maintenance In order to ensure that the boiler is operating properly, it should be inspected annually at the beginning of the heating season by a qualified se rvice technician. Failure to do regular maintenance on the boiler, could result in a loss of system efficiency as well as equipment failure.
