Dry and well-seasoned wood will not only minimize the chance of creosote formation, but will give you the most ef fi cient fi re.

Second Stage The next stage of burning, the secondary stage, is the period when the wood gives off fl ammable gases which burn above the fuel with bright fl ames. During this stage of burning it is very important that the fl ames be maintained and not allowed to go out.

Opacity is measured in percent; 100% opacity is when an object is totally obscured by the smoke column from a chimney , and 0% opacity means that no smoke column can be seen.

Frequently Asked Questions ISSUES SOLUTIONS Odor from appliance When fi rst operated, this appliance may release an odor for the fi rst several hours. This is caused by the curing of the paint and the burning off of any oils remaining from manufacturing.
