You must be able to safely lift 45 pounds (20 kg) to raise, lower, or move t he treadmill. 20. When folding or moving the treadmill, make sure that the storage latch is fully closed.

ASSEMBL Y To hire an authorized service technician to assemble the treadmill, call toll-free 1-800-445-2480. Assembly requires two persons. Place the treadmill in a cleared area and remove all packing materials. Do not dispo se of the packing materials until the treadmill is assembled.

Hold the Latch Housing (68) and the Latch Housing Cover (5) against the sides of the Frame as shown. Finger tighten the two blunt-tipped 1/2” Screws (75) into the Latch Housing Cover and the Latch Housing as shown.
8 H OW TO PUT ON THE CHEST PULSE SENSOR T he chest pulse sensor consists of two components— the chest strap and the sensor unit. Insert the tab on one end of the chest strap into the hole in one end of the sensor unit, as shown in the inset drawing above.
THE PRE-LUBRICATED WALKING BELT Your treadmill features a walking belt coated with high- performance lubricant. IMPORTANT: Never apply sil- i cone spray or other substances to the walking belt or the walking platform. Such substances will deteriorate the walking belt and cause excessive wear.
10 FEATURES OF THE CONSOLE The treadmill console offers an impressive array of features designed to help you get the most from your workouts. When the manual mode of the console is selected, the speed and incline of the treadmill can be changed with the touch of a button.
1 1 H OW TO USE THE MANUAL MODE Insert the key into the console. See HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page 1 0. Select the manual mode. When the key is inserted, the manual mode will be selected. If you have selected a program, press the Manual button to reselect the manual mode.
12 The right display will also show your heart rate when you use the handgrip pulse sensor or the c hest pulse sens or. In addition, during heart rate programs the right display will show a heart rate.
13 H OW TO USE A PRESET PROGRAM I nsert the key into the console. S ee HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page 10. S elect a preset program. To select a preset program, press the Speed & Incline Programs button repeatedly. The right dis- play will show which program (P-1 to P-6) is se- lected.
14 To stop the program at any time, press the Stop button. The time will begin to fla sh i n th e lef t di s- p lay. To restart the program, press the Start bu tto n or the Speed increase bu tton.
15 H OW TO CREATE A CUSTOM PROGRAM I nsert the key into the console. S ee HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page 10. S elect a custom program. To select a custom program, press the Custom Programs button repeatedly until “P-9” or “P-10” appears in the right display.

H OW TO USE A HEART RATE PROGRAM Follow the steps below to use a heart rate program. Note: You must wear the chest pulse sensor to use a heart rate program. While using the chest pulse sensor, do not use the handgrip pulse sensor. Put on the chest pulse sensor.
18 Press the Start button or the Speed increase button to start the progr am. A moment after the button is pressed, the tread- mill will automatically adjust to the first speed and i ncline settings of the program. Hold the handrails and begin walking.
19 THE INFORMATION MODE/DEMO MODE T he console features an information mode that keeps track of treadmill usage information. The information m ode also allows you to select miles or kilometers as the unit measurement and to turn on and turn off the demo mode.
20 HOW T O FOLD AND MOVE THE TREADMILL HOW TO FOLD THE TREADMILL FOR STORAGE B efore folding the treadmill, adjust the incline to the lowest position. If this is not done, the treadmill may be permanently damaged. Next, unplug the power cord. CAUTION: You must be able to safely lift 45 pounds (20 kg) to raise, lower, or move the treadmill.
21 HOW TO LOWER THE TREADMILL FOR USE 1. Hold the treadmill frame firmly with your left hand. Pull the latc h knob to the right. Pivot the frame down until the pin on the latch knob is below the handgrip. Then, slowly release the latc h knob. 2. Hold the frame firmly with both hands, and lower the frame to the floor.
22 TROUBLESHOOTING Most treadmill problems can be solved by following the steps below. Find the symptoms that apply, and follow the steps listed. If further assistance is needed, please see the front cover of this manual. PROBLEM: The power does not turn on SOLUTION: a.

EXERCISE INTENSITY Whether your goal is to burn fat or to strengthen your cardiovascular system, the key to achieving the desired results is to exercise with the proper intensity.
25 SUGGESTED STRETCHES T he correct form for several basic stretches is shown at the right. Move slowly as you stretch—never bounce. 1 . Toe Touch Stretch Stand with your knees bent slightly and slowly bend forward from your hips. Allow your back and shoulders to relax as you reach down toward your toes as far as possible.
