3 1. Before beginning any exercise program, con- sult your physician. This is especially impor- tant for persons over age 35 or persons with pre-existing health problems. 2. It is the responsibility of the owner to ensure that all users of this treadmill are adequately informed of all warnings and precautions.
4 2 0. Never leave the treadmill unattended while it is running. Always remove the key, unplug the power cord, and press the power switch into the off position when the treadmill is not in use. (See the drawing on page 5 for the lo- cation of the power switch.

6 ASSEMBL Y T o hire an authorized service technician to assemble the treadmill, call 1-800-445-2480. Assembly requires two persons. Set the treadmill in a cleared area and remove all packing materials. Do not dispos e of the pa ckin g mate rial s unti l asse mbly i s comp lete d.
7 3. Identify the Left Upright (89), which is marked with a “Left” sticker or an “L” sticker. Have a sec- ond person hold the Left Upright near the Base (94). Se e th e in se t dr aw in g. Tie the wire tie in the Left Upright (89) securely around the end of the Upright Wire (81).
8 5. Identify the Left Base Cover (82) and the Right Base Cover (83). Slide the Left Base Cover onto the Left Upright (89). Slide the Right Base Cover onto the Right Upright (90). Do not press the Base Covers into place yet. Identify the Left Upright Cover (79) and the Right Upright Cover (80).
9 7. Attach the Left Handrail (88) to the Left Upright (89) with two 5/16" x 1" Bolts (5), two 5/16" Star Washers (11), and a 5/16" x 1 1/4" Bolt (4). Do not tighten the Bolts yet. Attach the Right Handrail (87) in the same way.
10 10. With the help of a second person, hold the con- sole assembly near the Left Handrail (88). Connect the Upright Wire (81) to the console wire. See the inset drawing. The connectors should slide together easily and snap into place. If they do not, turn one c onnect or and try again .
1 1 12. Tighten the four 3/8" x 2 3/4" Bolts (7) first and then the four 3/8" x 1 1/4" Bolts (8) (only one side is shown). Press the Left Base Cover (82) and the Right Base Cover (83) onto the Base (94) until they snap into place. 12 83 8 82 94 11.
14. Hold the Left Upright Cover (79) against the console assembly. Align the holes in the Left Upright Cover with the holes in the Left Upright (89). Attach the Left Upright Cover with three #8 x 1/2" Screws (1). Attach the Right Upright Cover (80) to the Right Upright (90) in the same way.
13 18. IMPORTANT: Before you begin this step, make sure that you have read and followed all of the instructions in step 17. Raise the Frame (56) to the position shown.
14 21. Make sure that all parts are properly tightened before you use the treadmill. If there are sheets of plastic on the treadmill decals, remove the plastic. To protect the floor or carpet, place a mat under the treadmill. Note: Extra hardware may be included.
15 OPERA TION AND ADJUSTMENT T HE PRE-LUBRICATED WALKING BELT Your treadmill features a walking belt coated with high- performance lubricant. IMPORTANT: Never apply sil- i cone spray or other substances to the walking belt or the walking platform. Such substances will cause excessive wear.
16 FEATURES OF THE CONSOLE The treadmill console offers an impressive array of features designed to make your workouts more effec- tive and enjoyable. The console features iFit Live tech- nology that enables the treadmill to communicate with your wireless network.
17 HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER IMPORTANT: If the treadmill has been exposed to c old temperatures, allow it to warm to room tem- perature before you turn on the power. If you do n ot do this, you may damage the console display or other electrical components.
18 The browser will open to the iFit.com home page. Touch the Register Now button in the upper-right corner of the screen. The browser will open to the iFit.com registration p age. Touch an entry box to view the keyboard. Slide your finger up or down the screen to scroll up or down the page.
19 4. Change the incline of the treadmill as desired. To change the i ncline of the trea dmill, press th e I ncline inc rease and decrea se buttons or one of t he numbered 1 Step Incli ne buttons. Eac h time you p ress one of th e buttons, the in cline will gradu ally change unti l it reaches the sel ected incline se tting.
20 6. Measure your heart rate if desired. Before using the h andgrip pulse sensor, remove t he sheets of plastic from the metal contacts on the pulse bar.
21 HOW TO USE AN ONBOARD WORKOUT 1. Insert the key into the console. See step 1 on page 18. 2. Select the start-up menu. See step 2 on page 18. 3. Select an onboard workout.
22 To reset the console, touch the home button on the screen. To pause the workout, touch the Pause button. To continue the workout, touch the Resume b utton or the Start button. To end the workout and select a new workout, touch the New Workout but- t on.
23 5. Start the workout. See step 4 on pages 21 and 22. During some workouts, the voice of a personal t rainer will guide you through your workout. 6. Monitor your progress. See step 5 on page 19. The screen may also show a map of the trail you are walking or running.
24 HOW TO USE THE INTERNET BROWSER Note: To use the browser, you must have access to a w ireless network including an 802.11b/n router with SSID broadcast enabled (hidden networks are not sup- p orted). To open the browser, touch the globe button near the lower left corner of the screen.
25 HOW TO USE THE SETTINGS MODE The console features a settings mode that allows you t o connect the treadmill to your own wireless network and to log in to your iFit Live account. The settings m ode also allows you to select the unit of measure- ment and to turn on and turn off the display demo mode.
26 3. Log in to your iFit Live account. To log in to a different iFit Live account, touch the i Fit Live Login button. Then, enter your user name and password using the keyboard on the screen. S ee step 2 on page 25 for instructions about using the keyboard.
27 HOW TO USE THE MAINTENANCE MODE The console features a maintenance mode that allows y ou to calibrate the incline and speed of the treadmill, update the console firmware, calibrate the screen, v iew technical information, and perform a network test.
28 6. Calibrate the screen. If the screen is not properly calibrated, it will be dif- f icult for you to touch the correct buttons on the screen. To calibrate the screen, touch the Calibrate S creen button and then touch the Begin button. A small target will appear on the screen.

30 TROUBLESHOOTING M ost treadmill problems can be solved by following the simple steps below. Find the symptom that applies, and follow the steps listed. If further assistance is needed, see the front cover of this manual. PROBLEM: The power does not turn on SOLUTION: a.
31 Locate the Reed Switch (52) and the Magnet (50) on the left side of the Pulley (49). Turn the Pulley until the Magnet is aligned with the Reed Switch.
32 b. If the walking belt slips when walked on, first re- move the key and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD. Using the hex key, turn both idler roller bolts clock- w ise, 1/4 of a turn. When the walking belt is cor- rectly tightened, you should be able to lift each e dge of the walking belt 2 to 3 in.
