T his manual con ta ins in st ructions on instal l at ion, safety preca u tio ns, general operating procedures, maintenance instructio ns and part s break down .
9 Receivi ng the Jointer Caref u lly unpack the jointer an d a l l l oo s e item s f ro m th e w ood crate an d inspect for damage. Any damage should be reported to your d is tributor a nd shipping agent imm edi ately .

11 2. Replace th e ins talled magnetic sw i t ch with the swi tc h rated f or 460V operation ( s tock no. PJ1696-205D ; s eparate purc h a se). 3. Change the dial o n t he overload relay to t h e appropriate setting f or 460V operation . 4. Check f or proper direct i on of rotation (cutterhead should rotate toward i n f eed tabl e).

15 Bevelin g To cut a bevel, lock the f ence at t he required angle and run the work across t he knives while keeping it f i rm ly agai ns t t h e f en ce and tables. Several passes may be nece s sa ry to achieve t h e de sired result. Taper Cuts One of t h e m os t us ef ul j oin ter operations is c u tt ing an edge to a taper.
16 9. To re-install the cu tter h ead, re v er s e the above pro cedu re. NOT E : Before rein stallin g, make sure the m ach ine's c u r ved seats of the base castin g are f ree of di rt, dust or grease, to help ensure a tight fit.
