10 R U N C H O K E OPERA TION • Soil conditions are impor tant for proper tilling. Tines will not readily penetrate dry , hard soil which may con trib ute to e xcessive bounce and diffi cult handling of your tiller . Hard soil should be mois tened before tilling; how ev er , e xtremely wet soil will “ball-up” or clump during tilling.
11 MAINTENANCE GENERAL RECOMMEND A TIONS The warranty on this tiller does not co ver items that ha ve been subjected to operator ab use or negligence. T o receiv e full value from the w arranty , the operator must main tain tiller as instructed in this manual.

14 SER VICE AND ADJUSTMENTS CA UTION: Disconnect spark plug wire from spark plug and place wire where it cannot come into contact with plug. TILLER T O ADJUST HANDLE HEIGHT (See Fig. 20) Select handle height best suited f or your tilling conditions. Handle height will be diff erent when tiller digs into soil.

18 ST ORA GE ENGINE OIL Drain oil (with engine warm) and replace with clean oil. (See “ENGINE” in the Maintenance section of this man ual). CYLINDER(S) • Remov e spark plug. • P our 1 ounce (29 ml) of oil through spark plug hole into cylinder .
