4 TIP 5 AREA CODE allows you to enter your local area code so CID will not show the ar ea code from local callers. See the next page for area code instr uctions. T o change your Caller ID options: 1) When the phone is in the standby mode, press MENU/MUTE .
7 B A SICS TIPS R INGER T ONE S ETTING Standby mode is when the remote is charged and the T alk button has not been pressed. The display is blank. If you set the ringer to Off , the ringer tone will not sound. 1) When the phone is in the standby mode, press MENU/MUTE.
9 TIPS 8 TIP 1) When the phone is in the standby mode, press MENU/MUTE. 2) P r ess ▲ or ▼ to move the pointer to “Ringer V olume” , then press SELECT/CH. 3) P r ess ▲ or ▼ to move the pointer through the ringer settings (Ringer Off, Ringer Low , or Ringer High).
11 TIP 10 TIP “Distinctive Ringer ” allows you to preset memor y locations with a designated ring tone. When an incoming call is received and the Caller ID information matches the infor mation in one of the memor y locations, the Distinctive Ring that has been stored for that particular caller will sound.
13 B A SICS S ELECTING A D IFFERENT C HANNEL If you encounter inter ference while using your phone, you can manually change the phone’s channel for clear operation. This function works only when the phone is in use. P r ess SELECT/CH . “Scanning” appears on the display , indicating the phone is changing to another channel.
15 P HONEBOOK 14 TIP U SING THE P HONEBOOK Phonebook allows you to dial a number using just a few key presses. It stor es names/numbers in the Phonebook memor y location, and you can search names in alphabetical order . Y ou have a total of 100 locations that can be used for the Phonebook (including the Speed dials) and Caller ID messages.

23 P HONEBOOK S PEED D IALING If you have selected a speed dial memor y location (10 locations: SPD1– SPD0) when storing a phone number in the Phonebook dial location, you can use the speed dialing feature. 1) When the phone is in the standby mode, press and hold a number key (0 – 9) associated with the speed dial.
25 P HONEBOOK 24 C HAIN D IALING The memor y locations in the r emote are not limited to phone numbers. Y ou can also store a gr oup of numbers (up to 20 digits), that you need to enter once your call connects. This is refer red to as Chain Dialing. An example of this is a bank account number .
27 P HONEBOOK 26 M AKING C ALLS WITH THE O NE T OUCH D IAL When the phone is in the standby mode, press and hold / t SPEED. The number in the one touch location is dialed. D ELETING THE O NE T OUCH D IAL 1) When the phone is in the standby mode, press / t SPEED.
29 TIP C ALLER ID TIPS If any of the following occurs during Caller ID, operation will be canceled. • P r ess END . The phone will r eturn to the standby mode (or the call will be disconnected). • P r ess T ALK/FLA SH or DELETE . • Place remote in base.
31 TIP 30 TIP TIP V IEWING THE C ALLER ID L IST The Caller ID list stores infor mation for incoming calls — even unanswer ed calls. Y ou can store 100 of the Caller ID messages and Phonebook locations (including Speed Dials) in total. Y ou can view the Caller ID list during a call or when the phone is in the standby mode.

35 TIPS C ALLER ID 34 TIPS L ONG D IST ANCE C ALLS AND A REA C ODE S ETTING /C ANCELL A TION While the incoming Caller ID information is displayed, pressing ✱ /TONE will place or remove the pr efix “1” in the display to set the call for a long distance call, or pressing # will set or cancel an area code.
37 TIPS M ORE M ORE The digital security code is an identification code used to connect the remote and the base unit. Normally , setting the code is not necessar y . In the rare situation that you suspect another cordless telephone is using the same security code, you can change the code.
38 TIP 39 M ORE I NST ALLING THE B EL TCLIP T O A TT ACH THE B ELT CLIP Insert the beltclip into the holes on each side of the remote. Press down. T O R EMOVE THE B EL TCLIP P ull one side of the beltclip to release the tab from the hole. Y ou can charge the remote with or without the beltclip.
